Heterogeneity and treatment landscape of ovarian carcinoma

open access: yesNature Reviews Clinical Oncology, 2023
Ovarian carcinoma is characterized by heterogeneity at the molecular, cellular and anatomical levels, both spatially and temporally. This heterogeneity affects response to surgery and/or systemic therapy, and also facilitates inherent and acquired drug resistance. As a consequence, this tumour type is often aggressive and frequently lethal.

Study on the influence of land use and cover change on bird community composition: a case study of Hangzhou Bay

open access: yes上海师范大学学报. 自然科学版, 2021
With the Hangzhou Bay where the population distribution is relatively concentrated as an example, using remote sensing technology, field investigation and canonical correspondence analysis(CCA) sequencing analysis, we studied the composition and ...

Characterization of Visitors’ Perception of Landscape Heterogeneity in Urban Green Spaces

open access: yesUrban Science, 2021
In the current context of global urbanization, interdisciplinary research is needed to identify planning and management practices in urban green spaces (UGS) that would enhance both biodiversity and visitors’ well-being.

The legacy of 20th Century landscape change on today’s woodland carabid communities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Aim For many species, the effects of landscape change can involve a time lag and result in an extinction debt. The landscape matrix plays a vital role in supporting species populations.

Landscape and Vegetation Patterns Zoning Is a Methodological Tool for Management Costs Implications Due to Xylella fastidiosa Invasion

open access: yesLand, 2022
Philaenus spumarius (Linnaeus 1758, hereafter Ps) is considered one of the main insect vectors responsible for the spread of an alien biota, Xylella fastidiosa (Wells 1987, hereafter Xf), in the Salento area, Apulia region (Southern Italy).

Dispersal and Space Use of Captive-Reared and Wild-Rehabilitated Harpy Eagles Released in Central American Landscapes: Implications for Reintroduction and Reinforcement Management

open access: yesDiversity, 2022
Understanding the spatial context of animal movements is fundamental for the establishment and management of protected areas. We tracked, by telemetry devices, 31 captive-reared and 5 wild-rehabilitated Harpia harpyja and estimated the dispersal and ...

Heterogeneity of the cancer cell line metabolic landscape [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Systems Biology, 2021
ABSTRACTThe unravelling of the complexity of cellular metabolism is in its infancy. Cancer-associated genetic alterations may result in changes to cellular metabolism that aid in understanding phenotypic changes, reveal detectable metabolic signatures, or elucidate vulnerabilities to particular drugs.

Effects of compositional heterogeneity and spatial autocorrelation on richness and diversity in simulated landscapes

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2023
Landscape structure plays a key role in mediating a variety of ecological processes affecting biodiversity patterns; however, its precise effects and the mechanisms underpinning them remain unclear.

The spatial and temporal heterogeneity of macrophyte communities in thirty small, temporary ponds over a period of ten years [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Ponds are important habitats within many landscapes because of the diversity of wildlife they support. This arises in part because of the heterogeneity of ecological communities found in neighbouring ponds but this variation has proved difficult to ...
