Analysis of a landslide multi-date inventory in a complex mountain landscape: the Ubaye valley case study [PDF]
In the paper we analyse a multi-date landslide inventory prepared for a mountainous area affected by several landslide types with different degrees of activity, we attempt to quantify the uncertainties associated to the mapping, we measure the evolution ...

Combined rock slope stability and shallow landslide susceptibility assessment of the Jasmund cliff area (Rügen Island, Germany) [PDF]
In this contribution we evaluated both the structurally-controlled failure susceptibility of the fractured Cretaceous chalk rocks and the topographically-controlled shallow landslide susceptibility of the overlying glacial sediments for the Jasmund cliff

Rainchecks and Risk: Climate Shocks, Policy Transitions and SME Credit Dynamics
ABSTRACT Small and medium enterprises rely heavily on bank credit. They also have the fewest tools to deal with climate risk. Using a panel of 45 countries from 2007 to 2022, we study how climate risk and the Paris Agreement shape SME bank lending. Climate‐related disasters are associated with lower SME credit, with post‐event estimates indicating a ...

Landslide inventories are essential for developing an accurate susceptibility assessment. However, the complete and systematic updating of these inventories is a time-consuming and challenging task. Therefore, we aimed to verify if the temporal updating of historical inventories improves the susceptibility models and if the size of the study area plays

Protected areas on international borders show uneven conservation outcomes
Abstract Border protected areas (BPAs) are national protected areas that are immediately adjacent to a country's border or span two or more countries; they are characterized by distinctive opportunities and pressures. They play a critical role in protecting carbon‐rich ecosystems, conserving endangered biodiversity, reducing cross‐border environmental ...

Abstract This article examines how salient sustainability risks from near‐miss natural disasters influence board composition. Using a difference‐in‐differences design, I find that firms located in counties neighboring disaster‐affected areas significantly increase the presence of directors with sustainability expertise following the disaster.
