Transfer learning improves landslide susceptibility assessment
Landslide susceptibility assessment is often hindered by the lack of historical landslide records. In this study, we propose a transfer learning-based approach for landslide susceptibility assessment, aiming at substantially improving susceptibility prediction using knowledge outside the target domain, especially for regions with limited landslide data.

Susceptibility assessment of small, shallow and clustered landslide
Earth Science Informatics, 2021Susceptibility assessment of landslides over a large area depends on the basic spatial unit of mapping, usually by using grid cell or slope unit. Both units are used in this study for the assessment of small shallow and clustered landslides in vegetated slopes in Malipo, southwest China.

Landslide Susceptibility Assessment with Machine Learning Algorithms
2009 International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems, 2009Case study addresses NW slopes of Fruska GoraMountain, Serbia. Landslide activity is quite notorious in this region, especially along the Danube’s right river bank, and recently intensified seismicity coupled with atmospheric precipitation might be critical for triggering new landslide occurrences.

GeoFIS: An integrated tool for the assessment of landslide susceptibility
Computers & Geosciences, 2014Abstract In this study, requirements of landslide susceptibility mapping by a Mamdani fuzzy inference system (FIS) are identified, and a single standalone application (GeoFIS) is developed. GeoFIS includes two main open source libraries, one for GIS operations and the other for creating Mamdani FIS.

Use of Geomorphological Information in Indirect Landslide Susceptibility Assessment
Natural Hazards, 2003The objective of this paper is to evaluate the importance of geomorphological expert knowledge in the generation of landslide susceptibility maps, using GIS supported indirect bivariate statistical analysis. For a test area in the Alpago region in Italy a dataset was generated at scale 1:5,000.

Comparison of GIS-based methodologies for the landslide susceptibility assessment
GeoInformatica, 2008In this paper, two simple GIS-based methodologies have been used to assess the landslide susceptibility in a basin located in Southern Italy. The methodologies at issue, based on the spatial distribution of landslides and/or of causal factors, are bivariate statistics-based and expert-based, respectively. The spatial distribution of both the landslides

Application of GIS Techniques for Landslide Susceptibility Assessment at Regional Scale [PDF]
We evaluated the landslide susceptibility in Sicily region (Italy) (25,000 km2) using a multivariate Logistic Regression model. The susceptibility model was implemented in a GIS environment by using ArcSDM (Arc Spatial Data Modeller) to develop spatial prediction models through regional datasets.

Susceptibility assessment of earthquake-triggered landslide in Wenchuan
SPIE Proceedings, 2009The Ms 8.0 Wenchuan earthquake, occurred on 12 May 2008 in Sichuan Province, collapsed a great many houses and injured hundreds of thousands of people. Undoubtedly, it can be predicted that secondary earthquake landslides will draw much attention during a long time after the earthquake due to the severe geological hazard.
