This study evaluates the COSMO‐CLM regional climate model over Italy under CMIP6 scenarios. Compared to its driving global model, COSMO‐CLM reduces temperature biases by 50%–75% and better represents precipitation and extremes, adding critical mesoscale detail.

A review on spatial, temporal and magnitude prediction of landslide hazard
Over the last few decades, several landslide susceptibility and hazard mapping (LSHM) techniques have been developed. Maps for the same region have also been generated by different individuals following dissimilar approaches, which can be grouped into ...

Failure in Motion: A Framework for Capability Erosion and Institutional Dysfunction
ABSTRACT Drawing on the literature on capability erosion and institutional dysfunction (ID), this study develops a conceptual framework that sheds new light on how the interaction between capability erosion and ID creates conditions for business failure across borders. By articulating two dimensions of heterogeneous capability and resource erosion (i.e.

Detailed and large-scale cost/benefit analyses of landslide prevention vs. post-event actions [PDF]
The main aim of this paper is to test economic benefits of landslide prevention measures vs. post-event emergency actions. To this end, detailed- and large-scale analyses were performed in a training area located in the northeastern Italian pre-Alps that

ABSTRACT Across circumpolar permafrost regions, climate change is destabilizing ice‐rich hillslopes, increasing the frequency and magnitude of thaw‐driven mass wasting. This paper reviews recent studies (2013–2024) on thaw‐driven mass wasting, focusing on the processes, morphology and trajectories of geomorphic change and their implications for ...

Optimal statistical method selection for landslide susceptibility assessment and its scale effect
Accurate landslide susceptibility assessment is vital for disaster prevention, but current mapping lacks systematic analysis of the underlying mechanisms between multi-scale factors and model performance. Taking Zhenxiong County as an example, this paper
