The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Slight Truncation Changes in Iron Oxide Nanocubes Strongly Affect Their Magnetic Properties
Subtle variations in nanoparticle morphology can lead to significant changes in functional properties. An automated shape‐fitting method captures minor differences in corner truncation between iron oxide nanocubes of similar sizes synthesized under identical conditions, revealing pronounced disparities in their magnetic and hyperthermia behavior ...

Room‐Temperature Gas‐Phase CO2‐to‐C3 Coupling by a 4f‐Aromatic Cluster
We engineered a 4f metalla aromatic cluster, PrB2C2−, that enables efficient sequential C−C coupling with CO2 at room temperature, yielding a linear C3 backbone. This system provides a complete theoretical catalytic cycle and establishes a new design principle for lanthanide mediated CO2 activation.

Stochastic modeling of excitable dynamics: improved Langevin model for mesoscopic channel noise
Influence of mesoscopic channel noise on excitable dynamics of living cells became a hot subject within the last decade, and the traditional biophysical models of neuronal dynamics such as Hodgkin-Huxley model have been generalized to incorporate such ...

Uncovering the Origin of Efficiency Roll‐Off in TADF OLEDs
OLEDs based on thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) materials often suffer from a severe drop in efficiency at high brightness levels. This work presents a technique to uncover the source of this efficiency drop, and quantifies the exciton‐exciton and exciton‐polaron annihilation processes responsible for efficiency losses in our TADF OLEDs ...

Decentralized Langevin Dynamics
Langevin MCMC gradient optimization is a class of increasingly popular methods for estimating a posterior distribution. This paper addresses the algorithm as applied in a decentralized setting, wherein data is distributed across a network of agents which act to cooperatively solve the problem using peer-to-peer gossip communication.

Properties of low-dimensional collective variables in the molecular dynamics of biopolymers [PDF]
The description of the dynamics of a complex, high-dimensional system in terms of a low-dimensional set of collective variables Y can be fruitful if the low dimensional representation satisfies a Langevin equation with drift and diffusion coefficients ...
