Irreversibble Bimolecular Reactions of Langevin Particles

open access: yes, 2000
The reaction A+B --> B is studied when the reactants diffuse in phase space, i.e. their dynamics is described by the Langevin equation. The steady-state rate constants are calculated for both the target (static A and mobile B's) and trapping (mobile A ...

Skewed superstatistical distributions from a Langevin and Fokker-Planck approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The superstatistics concept is a useful statistical method to describe inhomogeneous complex systems for which a system parameter $\beta$ fluctuates on a large spatio-temporal scale.

Tuning the Electronic Structure and Spin State of Fe─N─C Catalysts Using an Axial Oxygen Ligand and Fe Clusters for High‐Efficiency Rechargeable Zinc–Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A FeN4─O/Clu@NC‐0.1Ac catalyst containing atomically‐dispersed FeN4─O sites (medium‐spin Fe2+) and Fe clusters delivered a half‐wave potential of 0.89 V for ORR and an overpotential of 330 mV at 10 mA cm−2 for OER in 0.1 m KOH. When the catalyst was used in a rechargeable Zn–air battery, a power density of 284.5 mW cm−2 was achieved with excellent ...

Regularly varying correlation functions and KMO-Langevin equations

open access: yesHokkaido Mathematical Journal, 1997
The author considers the linear stochastic delay equation \[ \dot X=-\int_{-\infty}^t \gamma(t-s)\dot X(s) ds+\alpha\dot B(t), \] where \(\alpha>0\), \(\dot B\) is a Gaussian white noise, and \(\gamma\colon(0,\infty)\to(0,\infty)\) is a function of the form \(\gamma(t)=\int_0^\infty \exp\{-t\lambda\} d\rho(\lambda)\), \(t>0\), where \(\rho\) is a Borel

Green function, quasi-classical Langevin and Kubo–Greenwood methods in quantum thermal transport [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2019
With the advances in fabrication of materials with feature sizes at the order of nanometers, it has been possible to alter their thermal transport properties dramatically. Miniaturization of device size increases the power density in general, hence faster electronics require better thermal transport, whereas better thermoelectric applications require ...

Integrative Approaches for DNA Sequence‐Controlled Functional Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA is emerging as a programmable building block for functional materials with applications in biomimicry, biochemical, and mechanical information processing. The integration of simulations, experiments, and machine learning is explored as a means to bridge DNA sequences with macroscopic material properties, highlighting current advances and providing ...

The Effect of Amino Acids on the Formation of Amorphous Calcium Carbonate Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biomineral formation often proceeds via the assembly of amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) nanoparticles with narrow size distributions. Using in situ SAXS coupled to a stopped‐flow device, we follow synthetic ACC formation with a 10 ms time resolution and show that amino acids narrow the size distribution at low supersaturation, highlighting their key ...

New results on controllability analysis of nonlinear fractional order integrodifferential Langevin system with multiple delays

open access: yesResults in Control and Optimization
Nowadays, the study of fractional differential equations (FDEs) is one of the most interesting research topics. In this article, we study a novel nonlinear fractional order Langevin system involving delays. The primary focus of this article is to analyze

Backstreaming effects on probing postsaddle dissipation with light particle multiplicity

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2020
Nuclear dissipation retards fission. Using the stochastic Langevin model, we study pre- and post-saddle emitted neutrons, protons and α particles of heavy 245Cf nuclei as a function of the postsaddle dissipation strength (β) in the absence and presence ...

MagPiezo: A Magnetogenetic Platform for Remote Activation of Endogenous Piezo1 Channels in Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.
