The Past and the Future of Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett Films.
Chemical Reviews, 2022The Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique, through which monolayers are transferred from the air/water interface onto a solid substrate, was the first method to allow for the controlled assembly of organic molecules.

The kinetics of adsorption for Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms has been explored theoretically on the basis of Statistical Rate Theory (SRT). The Modified Pseudo-First-Order (MPFO) and Pseudo-First-Order (PFO) models were derived from Freundlich ...

Phage Langmuir monolayers and Langmuir–Blodgett films
Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2011Stable, insoluble Langmuir monolayer films composed of Staphylococcus aureus-specific lytic bacteriophage were formed at an air-water interface and characterized. The phage monolayer was very strong, withstanding a surface pressure of ∼40 mN/m at 20 °C.
