Accelerating Biosensor Discovery: A Computationally‐Driven Pipeline for Microplastics Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A computationally guided pipeline unites molecular simulation, synthetic biology, electrochemical engineering, and machine learning to accelerate biosensor discovery. A Bacillus anthracis carbohydrate‐binding module is used to develop a high‐performance micro‐ and nanoplastics sensor with greatly reduced error and variability.

Adsorption of levodopa from aqueous solution on granular activated carbon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Granular activated carbon filtration has been successfully used in wastewater and drinking water treatment plants, for removal of different pollutants and it is the most efficient conventional treatment method for the purification of water contaminated ...

Incorporation of stochastic chemistry on dust grains in the PDR code using moment equations

open access: yes, 2009
Unlike gas-phase reactions, chemical reactions taking place on interstellar dust grain surfaces cannot always be modeled by rate equations. Due to the small grain sizes and low flux, these reactions may exhibit large fluctuations and thus require ...

The Impact of Organic Constituents in Coal Chemical Wastewater on Additive Adsorption at the Coal Surface: Experimental Investigation and Molecular Dynamics Simulation

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Direct preparation of coal–water slurry using coal chemical wastewater represents an economical and feasible approach for wastewater resource utilization. Unlike clean water, however, the complex organic components in wastewater may exert adverse effects on slurry properties.

Kinetics, adsorption mechanism, and economic viability of an eco-friendly amorphous carbon thin-film adsorbent synthesized from agricultural waste for removal of 2,4-dichlorophenol and 2,4,6-trichlorophenol in water environment

open access: yesCase Studies in Chemical and Environmental Engineering
This study developed a new adsorbent (HPL-ACTF) from agricultural waste, specifically leaves of Hamelia patens Jacq. The batch experiment examined the operating conditions including pH, temperature, contact time, and adsorbate concentrations to determine

Phosphate Removal by ZIF‐8 and Magnetic Fe3O4/ZIF‐8: A Comparative Study of Capacity, Kinetics, and Regeneration

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents a comparative evaluation of phosphate adsorption on pristine ZIF‐8 and Fe3O4‐doped ZIF‐8 (Fe3O4/ZIF‐8), a hybrid adsorbent combining high surface area with magnetic separability. Structural integrity and composition were confirmed using SEM, XRD, FTIR, and XPS.

Efficient Selective Adsorption of Anionic Dyes by Modified Activated Alumina Spheres

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The persistent environmental threat from dye‐contaminated industrial wastewater necessitates advanced remediation solutions. Hydrochloric acid–modified activated alumina spheres (HAAs) are presented as efficient adsorbents for anionic dye removal.

CO2 Adsorption on Mesoporous Silica Using Response Surface Methodology (RSM)

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The aim of the current study is to investigate the CO2 adsorption on the mesoporous silica. The adsorbent was characterized by XRD, TEM, SEM, and N2 adsorption desorption. The adsorption isotherms of carbon dioxide (CO2) on the silica were investigated using a static volumetric method at various temperatures.

Adsorption desorption processes on mesoscopic pores conected to microscopic pores of complex geometry using the Ising model

open access: yes, 2015
In this work we report studies of nitrogen adsorption and desorption onto solid surfaces using computer simulations of the three dimensional Ising model, for systems with complex porous structures at the mesoscopic and microscopic levels.
