Establishment of Fuzzy Langmuir Adsorption Model and Prediction of Chromatographic Behavior

Advanced Theory and Simulations, 2022
AbstractIn order to accurately predict the complex chromatographic behaviors of the components to be separated, the fuzzy Langmuir adsorption equations and the back propagation‐artificial neural network (BP‐ANN) are combined to establish fuzzy Langmuir adsorption models.

Fractal model for adsorption on activated carbon surfaces: Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption

Surface Science, 2000
Abstract Adsorption of organic compounds in aqueous media onto an activated carbon surface usually follows the empirically derived Freundlich equation W=KC1/n, where W is the mass of the adsorbed solute, C is the equilibrium solute concentration, and K and n are fitting constants.

Modelling of adsorption-desorption noise in gas sensors using Langmuir and wolkenstein models for adsorption

Proceedings. The 16th International Conference on Microelectronics, 2004. ICM 2004., 2005
A comparison between adsorption-desorption (A-D) noise models obtained using Langmuir and Wolkenstein theories is presented. This noise is generated by instantaneous fluctuations in the number of the adsorbed molecules, which cause free electron's density fluctuations in the sensing layer, and consequently a fluctuation in the conductance of the gas ...

Explanation of difenoconazole removal by chitosan with Langmuir adsorption isotherm and kinetic modeling

Toxicological Research, 2022
In this study, the adsorption of toxic difenoconazole pesticide was investigated by using chitosan. In the first phase of the study, chitosan was extracted from deep-water pink shrimp (Parapenaeus longirostris) shells, by deacetylation of the chitin, which is separated and disposed of after meat extraction in processing facilities in Turkey.

The Stoichiometric Displacement Model and Langmuir and Freundlich Adsorption

Journal of Chemical Education, 2002
The stoichiometric displacement model adds solvent release to the adsorption equilibrium between a solute adsorbate in solution and a solid adsorbent. Unique interpretations of HPLC and isotherms of Langmuir and Freundlich type are a result. Experiments are described that are adaptable to the teaching of undergraduate laboratories in biochemistry ...

Modeling of Mass Transfer Controlled Adsorption Rate Based on the Langmuir Adsorption Isotherm

Separation Science and Technology, 2000
Adsorption techniques are extensively used in bulk separations, purifications, and physiochemical parameter determinations. Generally, the adsorption models are described for equilibrium conditions. This study investigates the development of a mathematical model which describes the rate of adsorption under the conditions when the dynamic mass transfer ...

Heterogeneous Extended Langmuir Model with Multiregion Surfaces for Adsorption of Mixtures

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2002
The multiregion or multisite adsorption theory is applied to the heterogeneous extended Langmuir (HEL) model for predicting adsorption from mixtures. A new model, multiregion HEL (MR-HEL), is derived. MR-HEL is thermodynamically consistent. It uses the same three parameters for each component of the mixture as in the HEL model.

Modified Langmuir-like Model for Modeling the Adsorption from Aqueous Solutions by Activated Carbons

Langmuir, 2004
A new equation, a modified Langmuir-like equation (M-LLE), for describing adsorption from solution by activated carbons is proposed for the first time in this work. The M-LLE assumes that there are two types of interactions: (a) specific interactions which are typical, enthalpy-driven interactions and (b) nonspecific interactions driven by the loss of ...

Comparison of linearization methods for modeling the Langmuir adsorption isotherm

Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2019
Abstract The Langmuir isotherm model is widely used for modeling adsorption equilibrium data. The linearization method is mostly applied for estimations of the Langmuir parameters. However, it is not unified and requires further study. In this paper, the applicability and accuracy of four linearization methods of the Langmuir isotherm (equilibrium ...
