The Consequences of Internationalization in the Croatian Language

open access: yesRasprave Instituta za Hrvatski Jezik i Jezikoslovlje, 2010
The consequences of globalization processes are visible in language as tendencies towards internationalization. Internationalization, or more precisely Anglo-Americanization, has affected all modern languages in the world and the Croatian language is no ...

A frame-semantic approach to conceptual metaphors in the domain of emotion

open access: yesLanguage and Cognition
The article explores the metaphorical conceptualization of emotions. Conceptual metaphors are understood here as frames (i.e., structures of knowledge in long-term memory) in their own right.

Multimodal Human–Robot Interaction Using Human Pose Estimation and Local Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A multimodal human–robot interaction framework integrates human pose estimation (HPE) and a large language model (LLM) for gesture‐ and voice‐based robot control. Speech‐to‐text (STT) enables voice command interpretation, while a safety‐aware arbitration mechanism prioritizes gesture input for rapid intervention.

LLM‐Integrated Human–Robot Interaction System for Microrobots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This paper proposes an LLM‐based control framework for guiding microrobots using human natural language. This framework can convert the natural human speech into safe and executable command sets for reliable navigation in complex environments. The experimental results show high accuracy and robustness in task performance, demonstrating the potential of

Collocations in the Croatian Web Dictionary - Mrežnik

open access: yesSlovenščina 2.0: Empirične, aplikativne in interdisciplinarne raziskave, 2020
The Croatian Web Dictionary – Mrežnik project aims to create a free, monolingual, easily searchable, hypertext, born-digital, corpus-based dictionary of the Croatian standard language. Collocations play an important role in Mrežnik. At the outset of the

Deep Learning Prediction of O‐Glycopeptide Tandem Mass Spectra Enhances O‐Glycoproteomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
DeepGPO integrates Transformer and graph neural networks with tailored training strategies, including data augmentation, loss re‐weighting, and pre‐training, to achieve high‐quality O‐glycopeptide MS/MS spectra prediction. The predicted MS/MS spectra are used to localize O‐glycosylation sites from HCD MS/MS data, enhancing O‐glycoproteomics analysis ...

GRICE’S MAXIMS IN HUMOUR: THE CASE OF “HOME WITH KIDS”

open access: yesEnglish Review: Journal of English Education, 2017
Sitcoms provide entertainment, one of which is through humour. Using Grice’s (1975) non-observance of Cooperative Principles – flouting, violating, infringing, opting out, and suspending as framework for analysis, this study aims to investigate whether ...

CLRe: A Synergistic Dual‐Engine Framework for One‐Step Retrosynthesis Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CLRe uses a contrastive difficulty score to order pretrained seq2seq fine‐tuning for retrosynthesis. Reaction embeddings define the ranking score, and a cumulative easy‐to‐hard schedule expands from the easiest subset to the full training set while earlier examples remain active.

CoSP: Reconfigurable Metamaterial Inverse Design via Contrastive Pretrained Large Language Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, CoSP (contrastive multi‐state pretrain), an intelligent inverse design method for reconfigurable metamaterials based on a contrastive pretrained large language model, is proposed. Numerical experiments demonstrate that CoSP can design reconfigurable metamaterial structures for multi‐state, multi‐band optical responses, showing great ...
