Designing for Degradation: Transient Devices Enabled by (Nano)Cellulose

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Recent progress in transient devices enabled by (nano)cellulosic materials is reviewed. Transiency mechanisms, advantages of nanocelluloses, and a suite of applications are discussed. A circular thinking approach coupled with life cycle assessment is applied to critically revisit the potential, advantages, and challenges of nanocellulose‐enabled ...

The Gradual Evolution of Language

open access: yesHumana.Mente: Journal of Philosophical Studies, 2014
Language is commonly held to be unique to humans, and to have emerged suddenly in a single “great leap forward” within the past 100,000 years. The view is profoundly anti-Darwinian, and I propose instead a framework for understanding how language might ...

Computational Simulations of Metal–Organic Frameworks to Enhance Adsorption Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights the significance of molecular simulations in expanding the understanding of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and improving their gas adsorption applications. The historical development and implementation of molecular simulations in the MOF field are given, high‐throughput computational screening studies used to unlock the ...

Synthetic Control of Water‐Stable Hybrid Perovskitoid Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Hybrid metal‐halide perovskites are promising semiconductors for optoelectronics, yet their water stability is problematic. A new synthesis method is developed using lead iodide and cysteamine under various pH conditions, forming stable perovskitoid structures.

Magyarfalu-tól Csángliá-ig. A moldvai magyar helynevek használatának ideológiái [From Magyarfalu to Csánglia. Ideologies behind the use of Hungarian names indicating places in Moldavia]

open access: yesNévtani Értesítő, 2014
The use of Hungarian names to indicate places in Moldavia is quite varied. An interesting characteristic of this phenomenon is that place names or name variants different from the ones used by Moldovan speakers, or even completely unknown to local people,
