The cascade high productivity language

Proceedings., 2004The strong focus of recent high end computing efforts on performance has resulted in a low-level parallel programming paradigm characterized by explicit control over message-passing in the framework of a fragmented programming model. In such a model, object code performance is achieved at the expense of productivity, conciseness, and clarity.

The Neural Organization of Language Production
2023Language production relies upon a predominantly left-hemisphere network of cortical and subcortical brain regions. This chapter reviews evidence from neuroimaging and neuromodulation studies, beginning with an overview of the neural mechanisms engaged by the intention to communicate up to and including motor output for spoken production.

Max-product grammars and languages

The families of languages generated by various types of max-product grammars are examined. In particular, the family /oL of languages generated by finitary weak regular max-product grammars with cut-point is studied in detail.

Wordshape errors in language production
Cognition, 1990Errors in natural speech that crucially involve the shape of the target word, i.e. interact in some way with the number of consonants and vowels in the word and their relative positioning, are examined in detail. It is shown that context highly constrains the rate of such errors.
