Exploratory Analysis of ELP1 Expression in Whole Blood From Patients With Familial Dysautonomia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Familial dysautonomia (FD) is a hereditary neurodevelopmental disorder caused by aberrant splicing of the ELP1 gene, leading to a tissue‐specific reduction in ELP1 protein expression. Preclinical models indicate that increasing ELP1 levels can mitigate disease manifestations.

Leveraging mixed-effects location scale models to assess the ERP mismatch negativity’s psychometric properties and trial-by-trial neural variability in toddler-mother dyads

open access: yesDevelopmental Cognitive Neuroscience
Trial-by-trial neural variability, a measure of neural response stability, has been examined in relation to behavioral indicators using summary measures, but these methods do not characterize meaningful processes underlying variability.

Prediction of Myasthenia Gravis Worsening: A Machine Learning Algorithm Using Wearables and Patient‐Reported Measures

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare disorder characterized by fluctuating muscle weakness with potential life‐threatening crises. Timely interventions may be delayed by limited access to care and fragmented documentation. Our objective was to develop predictive algorithms for MG deterioration using multimodal telemedicine data ...

Acoustic Measures Capture Speech Dysfunction in Spinocerebellar Ataxia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) are hereditary cerebellar degenerative disorders with a common feature of dysarthria, involving impaired phonatory and articulatory control of speech, thereby affecting social communication. In this study, we investigated whether acoustic measures could objectively measure speech dysfunction and identify

WORD MEANING IN THE ASPECT OF LINGUOPERSONOLOGICAL VARIABILITY

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2015
The subject of the research: variability of semantics of the word determined by a linguopersonological factor. The hypothesis: interpretation of the original content of a lexical unit has different manifestations in the aspect of linguopersonological ...

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

Music training relates to the development of neural mechanisms of selective auditory attention

open access: yesDevelopmental Cognitive Neuroscience, 2015
Selective attention decreases trial-to-trial variability in cortical auditory-evoked activity. This effect increases over the course of maturation, potentially reflecting the gradual development of selective attention and inhibitory control.

Age‐Related Characteristics of SYT1‐Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We describe the clinical manifestations and developmental abilities of individuals with SYT1‐associated neurodevelopmental disorder (Baker‐Gordon syndrome) from infancy to adulthood. We further describe the neuroradiological and electrophysiological characteristics of the condition at different ages, and explore the associations ...

IDENTIFICATION OF SITUATIONAL CONTEXT AS THE MAIN PURPOSE OF TEACHING PAREMIOLOGICAL UNITS TO FOREIGN STUDENTS (EXAMPLES OF RUSIIAN AND TURKISH LANGUAGES)

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2014
The purpose of this article is to present some methodological recommendations for teaching foreign students to recognize the paremiological context and select the most precise paremiological unit for description of the situation.
