Advances in modified gallium lanthanum sulphide (Ga:La:S) glass for optical fibre devices
The advantages of gallium lanthanum sulphide (GLS) based glass over other competing glasses for active and infrared applications are evident through its low-phonon energy, high rare-earth solubility, high transition temperature and non-toxicity.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Telluroesters: Synthesis and Reactivity in Nucleophilic Acyl Substitution
A simple and general protocol to access telluroesters, a versatile class of organotellurium compounds serving as precursors of acyl radicals, is described. Their previously unexplored reactivity in nucleophilic acyl substitutions enables the efficient transfer of acyl moieties onto a broad range of nucleophiles under mild conditions.

Endothelial Ext1 is essential for maintaining heparan sulfate–rich endothelial glycocalyx integrity. Loss of Ext1 reduces glycocalyx thickness, resulting in enhanced leukocyte adhesion, increased vascular permeability, and exaggerated inflammatory responses following lipopolysaccharide (LPS) challenge.

Synthesis of Lanthanum Catecholates for Separation of Lanthanides
Separating lanthanides from spent fuel rods from nuclear power plants could prolong the lifetime of a fuel rod and minimize waste. This work examined synthesis of lanthanum catecholates for lanthanide separations in an oxygenated environment (tabletop ...

Zero field splitting of Ni2+ in lanthanum magnesium double nitrate
Evidence is presented which indicates that for Ni2+ in lanthanum magnesium double nitrate the zero field splitting of the ground state has not been adequately accounted for.

Synthesis and characterization of cryptates of Sc(III) and La(III) with hexabenzocryptand
880-883Three novel solid cryptates of a cage-type N2O6-heteroatom hexabenzocryptand (L) with RE(III) (RE=Sc,La) chlorides and lanthanum nitrate respectively have been synthesized and characterized by IR and 1H NMR spectra.
