Artists in Nursery Schools: Enabling Free Play and Self‐Expression Through the Arts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Art &Design Education, EarlyView.
Abstract The purpose of this research was to analyse the presence of artists in nursery schools by means of two proposals to promote free play and self‐expression for children between one and 3 years‐old and their families. Researchers compiled evidence from the perspective of three atelieristas and other participating adults, through interviews and ...

The cholesterol, high‐density lipoprotein, and glucose index and its derivatives related to obesity and inflammation as novel metabolic markers for predicting new‐onset cardiovascular‐liver‐metabolic multimorbidity: A prospective cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
The CHG index and its obesity‐derived variants were associated with incident CLMM, with CHG‐BMI showing the strongest association and predictive performance. CHG‐BMI may serve as a simple and accessible metabolic marker for CLMM risk stratification. ABSTRACT Background Cardiovascular‐liver‐metabolic multimorbidity (CLMM), defined as the co‐occurrence ...

Thermogenesis‐derived spatiotemporal microclimates guide pollinator movement to ensure pollination

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Alocasia odora's microclimatic heterogeneity guides Colocasiomyia fly movement within its inflorescence. During the female stage, midday heat in the upper spadix pushes flies down to the cooler female zone. During the male stage, nocturnal warmth in the upper part pulls flies upward and spathe constriction closes the lower female chamber.

Driven by risk: Understanding reference‐dependent preferences using simulated auto racing

open access: yesJournal of Risk and Insurance, EarlyView.
Abstract Using data from over 56,000 simulated auto races worldwide, we analyze risk‐taking at the margins, consistent with reference‐dependent preferences. We show that participants' risk‐taking changes when a desired intermittent outcome is presented, sometimes at the expense of a more favorable expected end state.

Evolution, Routing and Reservoir Characteristics of Submarine Channels in a Structurally Deforming Slope Setting: Deep‐Water Joint Development Zone of Nigeria and São Tomé and Príncipe

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Deep‐water slope channels and associated facies are a major part of clastic sediment dispersal system extending from the shelf‐edge to the abyssal plain. The toe‐thrust area of the deep‐water Niger Delta enables the analysis of these channels and their interaction with evolving fault‐controlled sea‐floor topography to be determined ...

Beneath the Drought: Rhizosphere Processes Shape Genotype‐Specific Sorghum Responses to Drought‐Induced N Limitation

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Droughts increasingly threaten crop productivity in nutrient‐depleted tropical soils. We investigated how water limitation influences rhizomicrobial traits (microbial biomass and functional community composition, enzyme activities) and nitrogen (N) uptake in three sorghum genotypes Makueni local (Mkl), Gadam (Gd), and IESH 22012 (IESH) under ...

Peri‐implantitis—Is it mainly a clinician‐initiated complication of implant therapy?

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Aim The high prevalence of peri‐implantitis is concerning, with a growing consensus that the majority of cases are complications initiated by clinician‐related errors rather than classic pathology. A primary predisposing factor for peri‐implantitis is exposure of the micro‐rough implant surfaces to the peri‐implant sulcus after treatment ...

The Orphans of Bishop Richard Fletcher: New Archival Discoveries on the Siblings of Playwright John Fletcher

open access: yesRenaissance Studies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article presents new archival discoveries concerning the siblings of early modern playwright John Fletcher following the sudden death of their father, Richard Fletcher, Bishop of London, in 1596. Navigating the epistemological limits of adversarial legal records from Chancery and the Star Chamber, the study reveals the tumultuous ...
