EXTRAPERITONEAL ‘LAPAROSCOPIC’ ADRENALECTOMY

Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery, 1994
The technique of extraperitoneal ‘laparoscopic’ adrenalectomy is described in two cases, a left sided 1 cm Conn's tumour and a right sided 3.5 cm incidental non‐functioning tumour. The extraperitoneal approach has the advantage of direct access to the adrenal gland without the need to mobilize abdominal organs, while maintaining all the advantages of ...

Laparoscopic partial adrenalectomy

Surgical Endoscopy, 1999
Most laparoscopic adrenalectomies involve total removal of the whole adrenal gland, and reports of laparoscopic partial adrenalectomies have been very few. The criteria for performing a laparoscopic partial adrenalectomy have not been described.(a) Patients with functioning adrenal tumors smaller than 3 cm in diameter were selected.

Laparoscopic transperitoneal adrenalectomy

Urologiia, 2017
To analyze the results of laparoscopic adrenalectomy (LAE) in patients with adrenal gland tumors. From 2011 to 2016, 24 patients (15 men, 9 women), mean age 49.6 +/- 8.2 years, underwent LAE. The right, left and bilateral LAE was performed in 12, 10 and 2 patients, respectively.

Laparoscopic adrenalectomy for metastatic disease: Retrospective cohort with long‐term, comprehensive follow‐up

Surgery, 2019
Background: Several malignancies metastasize to the adrenal gland, especially non‐small cell lung cancer, renal cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Adrenalectomy is associated with prolonged survival, but laparoscopic adrenalectomy for this indication is ...

Retroperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy

Current Urology Reports, 2005
Laparoscopic adrenalectomy is considered to be the standard of care for the surgical excision of the adrenal gland. Since the initial report of laparoscopic adrenalectomy in 1992, it has evolved into a feasible and reproducible minimally invasive procedure for benign adrenal tumors.

LAPAROSCOPIC ADRENALECTOMY: THE RETROPERITONEAL APPROACH

Journal of Urology, 1998
Retroperitoneal laparoscopy, by providing direct access to the retroperitoneal cavity, is an interesting approach to urological surgery. We report our initial experience with retroperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy.Between January 1995 and April 1997, 23 adrenalectomies were performed by retroperitoneal laparoscopy in 10 men and 12 women.

Laparoscopic Adrenalectomy Has the Same Operative Risk as Routine Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.

Journal of Surgical Research, 2019
BACKGROUND Laparoscopic adrenalectomy (LA) is the treatment of choice for aldosteronomas and other adrenal tumors. Despite evidence that surgical cure of aldosteronomas is superior to medical treatment, reluctance remains to refer patients for LA.

Laparoscopic Adrenalectomy: Comparison with Open Adrenalectomy

European Urology, 1994
The results of the first 6 cases of laparoscopic adrenalectomy were compared with the most recent 11 consecutive cases of traditional open adrenalectomy for the treatment of benign adrenal tumor. In both groups, all the tumors were less than 4 cm in diameter and were removed successfully with no significant complications.

Transperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy

Urologic Clinics of North America, 2001
Laparoscopic adrenalectomy has been demonstrated by many institutions to be a safe and effective approach to benign adrenal lesions. As surgical skills improve, it will most likely be comparable with open adrenalectomy in overall cost. Although it is technically demanding and takes slightly longer than open surgery, the benefits to the patient in terms
