Laparoscopic Common Bile Duct Exploration

Journal of Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques, 2001
Laparoscopic common bile duct (CBD) exploration is gaining favor in the treatment of patients with gallstones and CBD stones. Our aim is to report our results with this procedure, focusing on the technical aspects. All patients with proven CBD stones undergo laparoscopic transcystic CBD exploration, preferably, or a choledochotomy if the former is not ...

Laparoscopic common bile duct exploration

Irish Journal of Medical Science, 1992
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is now the standard approach to gallbladder disease. While laparoscopic cholecystectomy offers many advantages over the conventional laparotomy procedure one of its drawbacks is that a synchronous common bile duct exploration, for so long a cornerstone of management of choledocholithiasis, is not yet widely practised ...

Laparoscopic Common Bile Duct Exploration

Surgical Endoscopy and Other Interventional Techniques, 2003
Herein I describe my >12-year experience with laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE).From 21 September 1989 through 31 December 2001, 3,580 patients presented with symptomatic biliary tract disease. Laparoscopic cholecystecomy (LC) was attempted in 3,544 of them (99.1%) and completed in 3,527 (99.5%).

Laparoscopic Common Bile Duct Exploration

Journal of Laparoendoscopic Surgery, 1991
Operative common bile duct exploration, performed in conjunction with cholecystectomy, has been considered the treatment of choice for choledocholithiasis in the presence of an intact gallbladder. With the advent of laparoscopic cholecystectomy, the management of common bile duct stones has been affected.

LAPAROSCOPIC COMMON BILE DUCT EXPLORATION

Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery, 1993

Laparoscopic common bile duct exploration

Surgical Endoscopy, 2017
In recent years, laparoscoscopic common bile duct exploration has become the procedure of choice in the management of choledocholithiasis in several laparoscopic centers. The increasing interest for this laparoscopic approach is due to the development of instrumentation and technique, allowing the procedure to be performed safely, and it is also the ...

Laparoscopic transcystic duct common bile duct exploration

Surgical Endoscopy, 2006
The modern era of common bile duct (CBD) surgery started with Mirizzi, who introduced intraoperative cholangiography in 1932. Intraoperative choledoscopy had been developed as an adjunctive to intraoperative cholangiography, which helped to detect CBD stones in an additional 10% to 15% of instances that otherwise would have been missed.

Laparoscopic Common Bile Duct Exploration

Surgical technology international, 2015
Begin the operation in the same manner as a standard laparoscopic cholecystectomy, with trocar insertion and dissection of the triangle of Calot to a “critical view of safety.” Then perform a cholangiogram to confirm the presence of choledocholithiasis. Attempt to flush the common duct stones using saline, aided by intravenous glucagon.

Laparoscopic Common Bile Duct Exploration: A Review

Journal of Laparoendoscopic Surgery, 1996
The use of laparoscopic methods to explore the common bile duct is now well-established, although they continue to undergo continuous evolution and improvement. In experienced hands laparoscopic management of choledocholithiasis may be undertaken with morbidity and mortality at least as good as that of open surgery.
