A Modified Transcystic Biliary Decompression After Laparoscopic Choledochotomy

Journal of Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques, 2004
Transcystic biliary decompression (TCBD) has been proposed as an alternative to T-tube placement after laparoscopic choledochotomy (LCD). This permits safe primary closure of the choledochotomy and eliminates the complication associated with T-tubes.

Optimal Insertion Depth of Gastric Decompression Tube with a Thermistor for Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic Surgery in Trendelenburg Position

open access: yesInternational Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, 2022
Monitoring core temperature is crucial for maintaining normothermia during general anesthesia. Insertion of a gastric decompression tube (GDT) may be required during laparoscopic surgery. Recently, a newly designed GDT with a thermistor for monitoring esophageal temperature has been introduced.

Hepatic compartment syndrome complicating a right laparoscopic nephrectomy and treated by surgical decompression

Journal of Visceral Surgery, 2022
The hepatic compartment syndrome (HCS) corresponds to compression of the intraparenchymal liver tissue (intrahepatic pressure greater than the portal vein pressure, i.e. >10-15mmHg) caused by a subcapsular or intraparenchymal hematoma of the liver. It can lead to reversal of portal flow and hepatic parenchymal necrosis.

Intra-abdominal laparoscopic pudendal canal decompression – A feasibility study

Surgical Endoscopy, 2007
Pudendal canal syndrome (PCS) is induced by the compression or the stretching of the pudendal nerve within Alcock's canal.Considering the difficulty and possible complications involved in exposing the pudendal canal and nerve by either transperineal, transgluteal or transischiorectal approaches, an intra-abdominal laparoscopic pudendal canal ...

Transcystic biliary decompression after direct laparoscopic exploration of the common bile duct

Surgical Endoscopy, 1997
A purpose-designed transcystic common bile duct (CBD) decompression cannula is described for use as an alternative to T-tube insertion following laparoscopic direct CBD exploration. This permits safe primary closure of the choledochotomy.Following direct supraduodenal laparoscopic clearance of large common bile duct stones, the biliary decompression ...
