Stabilization of the trial method for the Bernoulli problem in case of prescribed Dirichlet data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We apply the trial method for the solution of Bernoulli’s free boundary problem when the Dirichlet boundary condition is imposed for the solution of the underlying Laplace equation and the free boundary is updated according to the Neumann boundary ...

Economy of Touch : Task‐Driven Information Selection in Electrical Impedance Tomography‐based Tactile Robotic Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) tactile skins enable multiplexed measurements that trade sensing speed against information richness. This work introduces an economy‐of‐touch framework that treats tactile sensing as an information‐budgeting problem.

Disentangling Aleatoric and Epistemic Uncertainty in Physics‐Informed Neural Networks: Application to Insulation Material Degradation Prognostics

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Physics‐Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) provide a framework for integrating physical laws with data. However, their application to Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) remains constrained by the limited uncertainty quantification (UQ) capabilities.

Numerical solution for nonlocal Sobolev-type differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2010
We present a numerical approximate solution to Sobolev-type differential equation subject to nonlocal initial boundary conditions. A Laplace transform method is described for the solution of considered equation.

The radial integration boundary integral and integro-differential equation methods for numerical solution of problems with variable coefficients

open access: yes, 2012
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University. The boundary element method (BEM) has become a powerful method for the numerical solution of boundary-value problems (BVPs), due to its ability (at least ...

On the p(x)-Laplace Equation in Carnot Groups

open access: yes, 2020
In this thesis, we examine the p(x)-Laplace equation in the context of Carnot groups. The p(x)-Laplace equation is the prototype equation for a class of nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations having so-called nonstandard growth conditions.

ParamNet: A Physics‐Guided Deep Learning Framework for Intelligent Self‐Inversion of Vacuum Optical Levitation Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A physics‐guided deep learning framework, ParamNet, is introduced for the intelligent self‐inversion of vacuum optical tweezers. By fuzing dual‐branch time–frequency features with physical dynamical constraints, it achieves high‐accuracy calibration of trap parameters from short‐window, low‐frequency trajectories, outperforming traditional methods ...

On matrix fractional differential equations

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
The aim of this article is to study the matrix fractional differential equations and to find the exact solution for system of matrix fractional differential equations in terms of Riemann–Liouville using Laplace transform method and convolution product to

Calculating multivariate ruin probabilities via Gaver–Stehfest inversion technique. [PDF]

open access: yes
Multivariate characteristics of risk processes are of high interest to academic actuaries. In such models, the probability of ruin is obtained not only by considering initial reserves u but also the severity of ruin y and the surplus before ruin x.

Nanodiamonds as Bioactive Platforms to Modulate Microbial, Mammalian, and Vertebrate Systems

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Nanodiamonds (NDs) are biocompatible and antibacterial nanomaterials that support mammalian cell growth while inhibiting bacterial pathogens. NDs showed strong antibacterial activity, with Escherichia coli being more sensitive than Staphylococcus aureus. At 10 mg/mL, both bacteria exhibited ~8% viability.
