Laplace transforms and valuations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 2017
It is proved that the classical Laplace transform is a continuous valuation which is positively GL$(n)$ covariant and logarithmic translation covariant. Conversely, these properties turn out to be sufficient to characterize this transform.

The Laplace transform as an alternative general method for solving linear ordinary differential equations

open access: yesSTEM Education, 2021
The Laplace transform is a popular approach in solving ordinary differential equations (ODEs), particularly solving initial value problems (IVPs) of ODEs. Such stereotype may confuse students when they face a task of solving ODEs without explicit initial

Existence and Uniqueness Study of the Conformable Laplace Transform

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2022
This paper tackles the topic of conformable Laplace transform. The authors aim at discussing its existence by exploring and providing the kind of functions that possess a conformable Laplace transform.

Fractional Operators Associated with the ք-Extended Mathieu Series by Using Laplace Transform

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2021
In this paper, our leading objective is to relate the fractional integral operator known as Pδ-transform with the ք-extended Mathieu series. We show that the Pδ-transform turns to the classical Laplace transform; then, we get the integral relating the ...

A general quantum Laplace transform

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
In this paper, we introduce a general quantum Laplace transform L β $\mathcal{L}_{\beta }$ and some of its properties associated with the general quantum difference operator D β f ( t ) = ( f ( β ( t ) ) − f ( t ) ) / ( β ( t ) − t ) ${D}_{\beta }f(t)= ({

Review of Inverse Laplace Transform Algorithms for Laplace-Space Numerical Approaches [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Algorithms, 63(2):339-355 (2013), 2012
A boundary element method (BEM) simulation is used to compare the efficiency of numerical inverse Laplace transform strategies, considering general requirements of Laplace-space numerical approaches. The two-dimensional BEM solution is used to solve the Laplace-transformed diffusion equation, producing a time-domain solution after a numerical Laplace ...

Laplace transform ordering of bivariate inactivity times

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2022
In this paper we consider the Laplace transform of the bivariate inactivity time. We show that a weak bivariate reversed hazard rate order is characterized by the Laplace transform of the bivariate inactivity times in two different frames.

On the dual representations of Laplace transforms of Markov processes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We provide a general framework for dual representations of Laplace transforms of Markov processes. Such representations state that the Laplace transform of a finite-dimensional distribution of a Markov process can be expressed in terms of a Laplace transform involving another Markov process, but with coefficients in the Laplace transform and time ...

One-dimensional quaternion Laplace transform: Properties and its application to quaternion-valued differential equations

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics, 2023
This paper is devoted to the study of the quaternion Laplace transform, which is a natural generalization of the classical Laplace transform using the quaternion algebra. We find that some of its properties such as derivative, convolution and correlation
