Tricomi’s Method for the Laplace Transform and Orthogonal Polynomials [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2021
Tricomi’s method for computing a set of inverse Laplace transforms in terms of Laguerre polynomials is revisited. By using the more recent results about the inversion and the connection coefficients for the series of orthogonal polynomials, we find the possibility to extend the Tricomi method to more general series expansions. Some examples showing the

An alternative method for numerical inversion of Laplace transforms [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2006
Based on least-squares approximation of the rectangular pulse [1] by exponential functions, this paper presents an alternative method for performing numerical inversion of the Laplace transform. It compares favourably with the celebrated Vlach's method.

Asynchronous time-parallel method based on Laplace transform [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Mathematics, 2020
Laplace transform method has proved to be very efficient and easy to parallelize for the solution of time-dependent problems. However, the synchronization delay among processors implies an upper bound on the expectable acceleration factor, which leads to a lot of wasted time.

On the Properties of Some Inversion Methods of the Laplace Transform

open access: yesVestnik St. Petersburg University, Mathematics, 2023
The problem of inversion of the integral Laplace transform, which belongs to the class of ill-posed problems, is considered. Integral equations are reduced to ill-conditioned systems of linear algebraic equations, in which the unknowns are either the coefficients of the series expansion in terms of special functions, or the approximate values of the ...

A Laplace transform method for the image in-painting

open access: yes2013 12th International Symposium on Distributed Computing and Applications to Business, Engineering & Science, 2013
There are many image processing techniques based on partial differential equations that perform well, but they consume much computational time. It's vital that rapid and efficient ways of solving these equations are developed. Use of the Laplace transforms permits solution to the time dependent problems in a parallel environment. The solution procedure

An Iterative Method for the Numerical Inversion of Laplace Transforms [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1995
We present an algorithm for the numerical inversion of Laplace transforms that is a particular case of the iterated regularization method proposed by Vainikko in 1982. To construct the finite-dimensional space, we use Laguerre polynomials. Error bounds for the approximations are derived.

Digitizing the Filtration Interface: A Smart, Modular Janus Wood Platform for Self‐Reporting Oil/Water Remediation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work developed a smart Janus wood membrane integrating asymmetric wettability with built‐in electrical sensing for oil‐water separation. The membrane achieved > 99.5% separation efficiency and high flux by leveraging wood's natural anisotropic pore structure.

Stepwise On‐Surface Synthesis and Transformations of Two‐Dimensional Covalent Organic Frameworks by Controlled Thermal Stimuli

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The seminal transformation of a 2D‐COF (SURFCOF‐IMDEA1) into a 2D porous COF (SURFCOF‐IMDEA2) on Au(111) by a sequential C‐C coupling and ladderization triggered by thermal annealing steps at increasing temperatures is reported. Abstract The development of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) is currently a primary objective in materials science, taking ...
