Allergy, EarlyView.Deep shotgun metagenomics profiled > 1000 infant skin swabs in the VITALITY cohort. Distinct skin microbiome signatures separated AD alone from AD with allergic co‐occurrence. Early Staphylococcus enrichment preceded later AD with allergic co‐occurrence. FLG mutations and strain‐level analyses revealed host and microbial features linked to AD.
