Large-scale multiuser SM-MIMO versus massive MIMO
2014 Information Theory and Applications Workshop (ITA), 2014Spatial modulation (SM) is attractive for multi-antenna wireless communications. SM uses multiple transmit antenna elements but only one transmit radio frequency (RF) chain. In SM, in addition to the information bits conveyed through conventional modulation symbols (e.g., QAM), the index of the active transmit antenna also conveys information bits.

Efficient stochastic detector for large-scale MIMO
2016 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2016In this paper, a low-complexity stochastic belief propagation (BP) detector for large-scale MIMO is first proposed. Its efficient hardware architecture, with parallel pipeline, is presented in detail. Thanks to the stochastic approach, all arithmetic operations of the detector are implemented with simple logic structures.

Investigation on Key Technologies in Large-Scale MIMO
Journal of Computer Science and Technology, 2013Large-scale MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) systems with numerous low-power antennas can provide better performance in terms of spectrum efficiency, power saving and link reliability than conventional MIMO. For large-scale MIMO, there are several technical issues that need to be practically addressed (e.g., pilot pattern design and low-power ...

Large-Scale MIMO Systems with Practical Power Constraints
2016 IEEE 84th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC-Fall), 2016In this paper, we investigate the downlink of large-scale MIMO systems considering two practical constraints related to system power. More precisely, we consider a non-negligible circuit power consumption and we impose a per-antenna power constraint due to limitations on the linearity of the RF power amplifier.

Antenna Clustering for Distributed Large-Scale MIMO Systems
2014 IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things(iThings), and IEEE Green Computing and Communications (GreenCom) and IEEE Cyber, Physical and Social Computing (CPSCom), 2014In addition to the advantage of high capacity in conventional multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems, distributed large scale (DLS) MIMO systems can further enhance energy efficiency and the system performance at the cell edge. Key challenges in DLS-MIMO systems include interference mitigation and complex signal processing in a large number of ...

Quadrature spatial modulation for large scale MIMO systems
2017 25th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2017In this paper, a new multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission system, which is called space-time quadrature spatial modulation (ST-QSM), and combines quadrature spatial modulation (QSM) with space time block codes (STBCs) in order to achieve second order transmit diversity gain, is proposed.

Successive interference cancellation for large-scale MIMO OFDM
2015 IEEE International Conference on Electro/Information Technology (EIT), 2015In this paper, a new low complexity successive interference cancellation (SIC) technique is proposed for a QPSK mapping multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) spatial multiplexing system based on a Quadratic Programming detector (QP-SIC). The proposed technique uses Log-Likelihood ratio (LLR) for reliability ordering of received symbols, and then ...

Efficient Distributed Processing for Large Scale MIMO Detection
2019 27th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2019In large scale multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), high spectral and energy efficiencies comes at the expense of a high computational complexity baseband processing. Many contributions have been proposed to reduce such complexity using matrix inversion approximation techniques for instance.

Robust Large Scale Calibration for Massive MIMO
2015 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2014In the massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) era, there are hundreds of antenna elements at one single base station (BS). It becomes critical to take full advantage of time-division duplexing (TDD) channel reciprocity to learn the downlink (DL) channel state information (CSI) from the uplink (UL) channel measurements at the BS.
