The large-scale structures of the Universe

Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2000
Abstract The present status of our understanding of the large-scale structures of the Universes is reviewed. The different methods that have been employed to probe the large-scale structures are presented, together with a discussion of their interests. Special emphasis is put on the implications of the observational results to the dark matter issue.

Large scale structure of the universe

Space Science Reviews, 1995
The current situation with the cosmological model and fundamental constants is briefly reviewed. Here, we concentrate on evolutionary effects of large-scale structure formation, in particular, the relationship with the quasar distribution and dynamics is discussed.

Large Scale Structure of the Universe

2016
The universe is full of stars. But how are all the stars distributed? Are they all huddled together, like freezing people around a fire? Or are they sprinkled evenly, as raisins in bread? The short answer is: both! The longer answer is surprisingly complex.

The Large Scale Structure of the Universe

1989
We discuss the constraints that three different class of observations can set on various model for the formation of the large scale structure of the Universe. These observations involve measurements of galaxy peculiar velocity and gravity, and the cosmic microwave background angular distribution.

The Large Scale Structure of the Universe

1998
Our current picture of how matter and radiation are distributed in the Universe on a large scale is derived from a wide variety of different types of observation. In this chapter, we concentrate upon the large-scale distribution of matter and radiation in the Universe and deal with galaxies and clusters of galaxies in Chaps. 3 and 4 respectively.

The Structure of the Universe on Large Scales [PDF]

open access: possible, 1991
A possible explanation of the results from a quantitative analysis of the deep galactic surveys is suggested. The theoretical model taking into account the influence of the potential on the galaxy distribution is given. This model allows explaining the galaxy distribution on superlarge scales and the formation of large voids.
