The Large-Scale Structure of the Universe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Galaxies are not uniformly distributed in space. On large scales the Universe displays coherent structure, with galaxies residing in groups and clusters on scales of ~1-3 Mpc/h, which lie at the intersections of long filaments of galaxies that are >10 Mpc/h in length.

LARGE SCALE STRUCTURE OF THE UNIVERSE: CURRENT PROBLEMS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The mean power spectrum of galaxies is compared with theoretical models. Possibilities to explain the observed power spectrum are discussed. Superclusters and voids form a quasi-regular lattice of mean cell size 120 Mpc; the main axis of the lattice is directed toward the supergalactic Y coordinate.

STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF LARGE-SCALE STRUCTURE OF UNIVERSE

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
While galaxy cluster catalogs were compiled many decades ago, other structural elements of cosmic web are detected at definite level only in the newest works. For example, extragalactic filaments were described by velocity field and SDSS galaxy distribution

Ho’oleilana: An Individual Baryon Acoustic Oscillation?

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Theory of the physics of the early hot universe leads to a prediction of baryon acoustic oscillations (BAOs) that has received confirmation from the pairwise separations of galaxies in samples of hundreds of thousands of objects.

Field-level Neural Network Emulator for Cosmological N-body Simulations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We build a field-level emulator for cosmic structure formation that is accurate in the nonlinear regime. Our emulator consists of two convolutional neural networks trained to output the nonlinear displacements and velocities of N -body simulation ...

Disentangling Modified Gravity and Massive Neutrinos with Intrinsic Shape Alignments of Massive Halos

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We present two new diagnostics based on the intrinsic shape alignments of group/cluster size dark matter halos to disentangle the effect of f ( R ) gravity from that of massive neutrinos.

Large Scale Structure of the Universe [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1997
How is the universe organized on large scales? How did this structure evolve from the unknown initial conditions of a rather smooth early universe to the present time? The answers to these questions will shed light on the cosmology we live in, the amount, composition and distribution of matter in the universe, the initial spectrum of density ...

On the ε cosmological parameter [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Astronomical Journal, 2015
In the paper On asymptotic solutions of Friedmann equations (Mijajlović et al. 2012), the theory of regularly varying functions in the sense of Karamata is applied in an asymptotic analysis of solutions of Friedmann equations.
