Transport Coefficients from Large Deviation Functions [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2017
We describe a method for computing transport coefficients from the direct evaluation of large deviation functions. This method is general, relying on only equilibrium fluctuations, and is statistically efficient, employing trajectory based importance ...

Efficiency large deviation function of quantum heat engines

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
The efficiency of small thermal machines is typically a fluctuating quantity. We here study the efficiency large deviation properties of two exemplary quantum heat engines, the harmonic oscillator and the two-level Otto motors.

Direct Evaluation of Large-Deviation Functions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2006
We introduce a numerical procedure to evaluate directly the probabilities of large deviations of physical quantities, such as current or density, that are local in time. The large-deviation functions are given in terms of the typical properties of a modified dynamics, and since they no longer involve rare events, can be evaluated efficiently and over a

The Large Deviations of Estimating Rate Functions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Probability, 2005
Given a sequence of bounded random variables that satisfies a well-known mixing condition, it is shown that empirical estimates of the rate function for the partial sums process satisfy the large deviation principle in the space of convex functions equipped with the Attouch-Wets topology.

Singularities in large deviation functions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment, 2015
Large deviation functions of configurations exhibit very different behaviors in and out of thermal equilibrium. In particular, they exhibit singularities in a broad range of non-equilibrium models, which are absent in equilibrium. These singularities were first identified in finite-dimensional systems in the weak-noise limit.

Adaptive saturated tracking control for solid launch vehicles in ascending based on differential inclusion stabilization

open access: yesDefence Technology, 2023
The large-range uncertainties of specific impulse, mass flow per second, aerodynamic coefficients and atmospheric density during rapid turning in solid launch vehicles (SLVs) ascending leads to the deviation of the actual trajectory from the reference ...

A Photovoltaic Array Fault Diagnosis Method Considering the Photovoltaic Output Deviation Characteristics

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2020
There are a large number of photovoltaic (PV) arrays in large-scale PV power plants or regional distributed PV power plants, and the output of different arrays fluctuates with the external conditions.
