T2T Genome Assembly and Multi‐Omics Data Reveal Terrestrial Adaptation and Mucus Biosynthesis in Tropical Leatherleaf Slug (Laevicaulis alte)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A gap‐free genome assembly and multi‐omics comparison of the terrestrial slug Laevichaulis alte with an aquatic relative reveal that expansion of the VEGF family orchestrates mucus production, lipid metabolism, and immune defense—highlighting key molecular innovations for conquering life on land.

Surface‐Spin‐Induced Magnetic Loss Enhancement in Ultralight Electromagnetic Absorbers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fe3O4 nanoparticles with different hollow rates were synthesized to demonstrate the key role of surface moment in magnetic loss process. Using the same volume filling ratio, the 54.1% hollow Fe3O4 absorber represents about 20% enhancement in the imaginary part (μ'') than solid particles due to the coexisting magnetic resonance of inside and outside ...

Evaluation of Third-Order Weighted Essentially Non-Oscillatory Scheme Within Implicit Large Eddy Simulation Framework Using OpenFOAM

open access: yesAerospace
The current study investigates the performance of implicit Large Eddy Simulation (iLES) incorporating an unstructured third-order Weighted Essentially Non-Oscillatory (WENO) reconstruction method, alongside conventional Large Eddy Simulation (LES) using ...

Atomically Modulating Competing Exchange Interactions in Centrosymmetric Skyrmion Hosts GdRu2X2 (X = Si and Ge)

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Our work bridges the gap between skyrmion discovery and material design by demonstrating how atomic‐scale control of exchange interactions enables tunable skyrmion phase transitions in centrosymmetric magnetic metals. ABSTRACT Magnetic skyrmions are topologically protected spin states that hold promise for shaping the future of electronics.

Exceptional Antimodes in Multi‐Drive Cavity Magnonics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Driven‐dissipative cavity‐magnonics provides a flexible platform for engineering non‐Hermitian physics such as exceptional points. Here, using a four‐port, three‐mode system with controllable microwave interference, antimodes and coherent perfect extinction (CPE) are realized, enabling active tuning to antimode exceptional points.

Modelling and Simulation of Effusion Cooling—A Review of Recent Progress

open access: yesEnergies
Effusion cooling is often regarded as one of the critical techniques to protect solid surfaces from exposure to extremely hot environments, such as inside a combustion chamber where temperature can well exceed the metal melting point.

A new drag and lift correlation for spherocylinders from fully resolved Immersed Boundary Method

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Many industrial processes deal with non‐spherical particles, e.g., mineral mining and biomass conversion. It is crucial to understand the particles' hydrodynamics to control and optimize these processes. To extend the current state‐of‐the‐art from arrays of spherical particles to spherocylindrical particles, we performed extensive particle ...

Meso-microscale numerical simulation in marine wind environments considering air-sea coupling

open access: yesKongqi donglixue xuebao
Standalone mesoscale numerical weather prediction models often neglect two key aspects when simulating wind speed: first, the influence of sea surface changes due to wave propagation and current evolution on wind turbulence; second, the ability to ...
