Strategy Analysis of Seamlessly Resolving Turbulent Flow Simulations
Modeling of wall-bounded turbulent flows, in particular the hybridization of the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) and large eddy simulation (LES) methods, has faced serious questions for decades.

Large Eddy Simulation of Turbulent Channel Flows by the Rational LES Model
The rational large eddy simulation (RLES) model is applied to turbulent channel flows. This approximate deconvolution model is based on a rational (subdiagonal Pade') approximation of the Fourier transform of the Gaussian filter and is proposed as an alternative to the gradient (also known as the nonlinear or tensor-diffusivity) model.

Calibrating sub-grid scale models for high-order wall-modeled large eddy simulation
High-order methods have demonstrated orders of magnitude reduction in computational cost for large eddy simulation (LES) over low-order methods in the past decade.

A Coherent vorticity preserving eddy viscosity correction for Large-Eddy Simulation
This paper introduces a new approach to Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) where subgrid-scale (SGS) dissipation is applied proportionally to the degree of local spectral broadening, hence mitigated or deactivated in regions dominated by large-scale and/or ...

A New Method for Assessing Haemolysis in a Rotary Blood Pump Using Large Eddy Simulations (LES)
The opportunity to assess haemolysis in a designed artificial heart seems to be one of the most important stages in construction. We propose a new method for assessing haemolysis level in a rotary blood pump.

Insights derived from CFD studies on the evolution of planar wall jets
The main objective of this paper is to demonstrate that a simple and cost-effective 2D Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) simulation approach can often be efficiently used in industrial design applications.

Boundary conditions and SGS models for LES of wall-bounded separated flows: an application to engine-like geometries [PDF]
The implementation and the combination of advanced boundary conditions and subgrid scale models for Large Eddy Simulations are presented. The goal is to perform reliable cold flow LES simulations in complex geometries, such as in the cylinders of ...

Validation of a statistic algorithm applied to LES model - Part I: First and second order statistics [PDF]
The main objective of this work is to develop a statistical algorithm to process the data generated by the Large-Eddy-Simulation model (LES) in real time. The simulations analyzed here were based on a convective, neutral and stable periods.
