Gravity and Large Extra Dimensions [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, 2011
The idea that quantum gravity can be realized at the TeV scale is extremely attractive to theorists and experimentalists alike. This proposal leads to extra spacial dimensions large compared to the Planck scale.

OBSERVABLES FROM LARGE EXTRA DIMENSIONS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics D, 2004
The existence of extra dimensions and a minimal length scale are modifications of our spacetime which are suggested by string theory. In models with additional dimensions, the Planck scale can be lowered to values accessible by future colliders and in ultra high energetic cosmic rays.

No-go theorems on localization of gravity around higher codimensional branes in noncompact extra dimensions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We study the brane world scenario of a single brane (or a single stack of branes) with codimension higher than one. When the extra dimensions are not small, localization of gravity around the brane is needed in order to reproduce the observable four ...

Braneworlds and Large Extra Dimensions [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2003
The idea of extra dimensions has always played an important role in string theory. However, until recently, most of the interest has been on small extra dimensions. With the introduction of braneworlds, this view has been turned around, and many investigations have been made of incorporating large extra dimensions into string theory.

Detecting large extra dimensions with optomechanical levitated sensors [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
Many experiments have been conducted to detect hypothetical large extra dimensions from sub-millimeter to solar system separations. However, direct evidence for such extra dimensions has not been found.

Leptogenesis in theories with large extra dimensions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1999
We study the scenario of baryogenesis through leptogenesis in higher-dimensional theories, in which the scale of quantum gravity is many orders of magnitude smaller than the usual Planck mass. The minimal realization of these theories includes an isosinglet neutrino which feels the presence of large compact dimensions, whereas all the SM particles are ...

Extra dimensions prefer large tan β [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2001
Assuming that the recent result obtained from the Monte Carlo simulations on the nonperturbative existence of the pure SU(2) Yang-Mills theory in five dimensions can be applied to a more general class of higher-dimensional gauge theories, we derive the conditions imposed by the nontriviality requirement on the theories.

Exponentially large extra dimensions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2002
We show how the presence of a very light scalar with a cubic self-interaction in six dimensions can stabilize the extra dimensions at radii which are naturally exponentially large, $r \sim \ell \exp [(4π)^3/g^2]$, where $\ell$ is a microscopic physics scale and $g$ is the (dimensionless) cubic coupling constant.
