Performance evaluation of a single microchannel plate with large length-to-diameter ratio
Journal of Instrumentation, 2023Abstract The conventional microchannel plate (MCP) detector has found widespread application in various fields. This article focuses on investigating the performance of a single MCP with a large length-to-diameter ratio (L/D) of 80:1, particularly for single electron counting.

Measurement, 2021
Abstract For shafts with a large ratio of length to diameter, the existing measurement method mainly uses a contact coordinate machine. But machining errors have a strong influence on the offline measurement results, and the accumulation errors of the measurement system also make the measurement datum difficult to identify.

A high-performance magnetic shield with large length-to-diameter ratio
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2012We have demonstrated a 100-fold improvement in the magnetic field uniformity on the axis of a large aspect ratio, cylindrical, mumetal magnetic shield by reducing discontinuities in the material of the shield through the welding and re-annealing of a segmented shield.

Abstract This study computationally investigates into the transport phenomena and heat transfer mechanisms associated with subcooled and saturated flow boiling of R-134a in large length to diameter micro-channel heat sinks. A two-dimensional computational model has been developed for analysis of the interfacial behavior of flow boiling that widely ...

Continuous Integral Sliding Mode Attitude Control for Rocket with Large Length-to-Diameter Ratio
2024 43rd Chinese Control Conference (CCC)To address the challenge of attitude control in large length-to-diameter ratio (LLDR) rockets with rigid-elastic coupling dynamics, a finite-time convergent attitude control strategy using continuous integral sliding mode has been developed.

Passage of a Turbulent Stream Through Honeycomb of Large Length-to-Diameter Ratio
Journal of Basic Engineering, 1964An analysis is performed, similar to the classical one for screens, of the effect of a honeycomb on a turbulent stream, when the cell length is large enough to permit the flow to become fully developed. The results indicate that a honeycomb should reduce the turbulence level of a stream passing through it more effectively than a screen, due to two ...

In order to meet the high temperature environment requirement of deep and superdeep well exploitation, a technology of large length-to-diameter ratio metal stator screw lining meshing with rotor is presented. Based on the elastic-plasticity theory, and under the consideration of the effect of tube size, material mechanical parameters, friction ...

Abstract This study investigates the interfacial behavior and heat transfer mechanisms associated with flow boiling of R-134a in a micro-channel test module. The test module features 100 of 1 × 1 mm2 square micro-channels. Large length of micro-channels used (609.6 mm) is especially important to capturing broad axial variations of both flow and heat ...

Abstract Compound angle hole film cooling with varying length-to-diameter ratio and internal crossflow orientations is investigated by large eddy simulation (LES). The film density ratio is 1.5, and the blowing ratio ranges from 0.4 to 1.2. The compound angle of 45° and three length-to-diameter ratios (L/D) from 0.5 to 5 are chosen for the ...
