Optimal estimation of qubit states with continuous time measurements [PDF]
We propose an adaptive, two steps strategy, for the estimation of mixed qubit states. We show that the strategy is optimal in a local minimax sense for the trace norm distance as well as other locally quadratic figures of merit.

Scalable Similarity Learning Using Large Margin Neighborhood Embedding [PDF]
Classifying large-scale image data into object categories is an important problem that has received increasing research attention. Given the huge amount of data, non-parametric approaches such as nearest neighbor classifiers have shown promising results, especially when they are underpinned by a learned distance or similarity measurement.

Neighborhood scheme selection for classification with SCRD method
When using Spatial Correlation Rule with Distance (SCRD) the selection of the neighborhood scheme influences classification accuracy. Spatial dependency in different situations remains at various distances, so, according to this, in applications it is ...

ASSESSING NEIGHBORHOOD DISORDER: VALIDATION OF A THREE-FACTOR OBSERVATIONAL SCALE
This study presents data on the development and preliminary validation of an observational scale assessing neighborhood disorder. Independent observations by trained raters of neighborhood disorder were conducted in 552 census block groups in the city of

Neighborhood Detector Generation Algorithm Based on Clustering [PDF]
Neighborhood Negative Selection(NNS) algorithm needs to traverse the whole self-samples and leads to large amount of calculation. At the same time there are phenomena about overlap rate higher at matching stage. To address this issue, making in-depth study ...

Long cycles in graphs with large degree sums and neighborhood unions [PDF]
We present and prove several results concerning the length of longest cycles in 2-connected or 1-tough graphs with large degree sums. These results improve many known results on long cycles in these graphs.

Adaptive Large Neighborhood Search with a Constant-Time Feasibility Test for the Dial-a-Ride Problem
In the dial-a-ride problem (DARP), user-specified transport requests from origin to destination points have to be served by a fleet of homogeneous vehicles.

Simulated annealing with large-neighborhood search for two-echelon location routing problem
Considering the multi-level distribution network has becoming more and more common, a two-echelon location routing problem (2E-LRP) model was established based on minimum total cost objective function.
