A determination of the parameters of a large class of Goppa codes
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1994The parameters of certain geometric Goppa codes are determined. The curves which are used have a Weierstrass point whose semigroup is generated by two elements \(m\) and \(p^ k\), where \(p\) is the characteristic of the field of constants. The bound for the minimum distance is determined in terms of this semigroup, is an improvement of the Goppa bound

Adaptation of large vocabulary recognition system parameters
[Proceedings] ICASSP-92: 1992 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1992The authors report on a series of experiments in which the hidden Markov model baseforms and the language model probabilities were updated from spontaneously dictated speech captured during recognition sessions with the IBM Tangora system. The basic technique for baseform modification consisted of constructing new fenonic baseforms for all recognized ...

Confidence intervals for large non-centrality parameters
Discussiones Mathematicae Probability and Statistics, 2015We use asymptotic linearity to derive confidence intervals for large noncentrality parameters. These results enable us to measure relevance of effects and interactions in multifactors models when we get highly statistically significant the values of F tests statistics.

Parameters For Large Optics Generation
Optical Engineering, 1986The ability to generate large aspheric optical components to micrometer tolerances while leaving surfaces relatively free of subsurface damage is quite recent. This paper describes methods for determining the optimum parameters for generating high quality aspheric surfaces.

Parameter space approach for large scale systems
2017 25th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation (MED), 2017The computational costs of the parameter space approach, which is used to calculate the stability boundaries for linear time-invariant systems (LTI), increase fast with the dimension of the investigated system. In this paper, the authors present a successive approximation of the stability boundaries for large scale systems. The approximation provides a

This paper presents generalization of scattering parameters to nonlinear circuits, overviews their applications and discusses their limitations. Those limitations were not a problem as long as the devices under test were matched at all ports. However the software tools that allow arbitrary settings can be easily misused.

Suboptimal estimation of systems with large parameter uncertainties
Automatica, 1974The design of a filter that must estimate the state of a system when large parameter uncertainties in the plant dynamics or plant and measurement noise covariance matrices are present is considered. Filter designs are evaluated relative to the trade off between filter sensitivity to the uncertain parameters and minimum mean-square estimation error ...

Dynamic Response of Linear Structures With Large Parameters
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1974The response of a linear structure with large stiffness parameters is shown to behave as a rigid object under sufficiently smooth and bounded excitations.

Existence of Detonations for Large Values of the Rate Parameter
The Physics of Fluids, 1963Recent investigations of idealized Navier-Stokes detonation structure have left unresolved the existence and nature of flow solutions in the case of very fast reactions. By formulating the problem explicitly in terms of a specified initial state and a specified hot boundary mass velocity wP (relative to the unreacted explosive), it is shown that ...
