Sidere: numerical prediction of large-strain consolidation
Large-strain consolidation theory is widely used for the management of dredged disposal sites. The theory is universally accepted to deal with this problem, though the determination of the material properties is not yet standardised. Decisions made on this level can lead to the prediction of a totally different consolidation history.

Benchmark Problems for Large Strain Consolidation
AbstractModeling of the one-dimensional consolidation process for soil and other compressible porous media is important for a variety of engineering applications. This paper presents solutions for two benchmark problems for large strain consolidation of a saturated soil layer that can be used to check other analytical and numerical analysis methods ...

Arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian method for large‐strain consolidation problems
AbstractIn this paper, an arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian (ALE) method is generalized to solve consolidation problems involving large deformation. Special issues such as pore‐water pressure convection, permeability and void ratio updates due to rotation and convection, mesh refinement and equilibrium checks are discussed.
