Relationship between Aeolian tone and Wake Vortex from Inclined Flat Blade

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2009
The three dimensional structure of the wake vortex was investigated in relating to the aeolian tone from the inclined blade. It was pointed out that the aeolian tone is largest not at zero, but at ten degree of the inclined angle.

Baryonic Signatures in Large-Scale Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We investigate the consequences of a non-negligible baryon fraction for models of structure formation in Cold Dark Matter dominated cosmologies, emphasizing in particular the existence of oscillations in the present-day matter power spectrum.

Responses in large-scale structure [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, 2017
We introduce a rigorous definition of general power-spectrum responses as resummed vertices with two hard and $n$ soft momenta in cosmological perturbation theory. These responses measure the impact of long-wavelength perturbations on the local small-scale power spectrum.

Modified Newtonian Dynamics of Large Scale Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We examine the implications of Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) on the large scale structure in a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe. We employ a ``Jeans swindle'' to write a MOND-type relationship between the fluctuations in the density and the ...

Labyrinthine acoustic metamaterials with triangular self-similarity for low-frequency sound insulation at deep subwavelength dimensions

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
Labyrinthine acoustic metamaterials are good choices for realizing sound insulation, acoustic stealth, and acoustic lenses by virtue of their stable performance and rich modes.

Large Scale Structure and Cosmic Rays revisited [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We investigate the possibility that ultra high energy cosmic rays (E > 10^19 eV) are related to the distribution of matter on large scales. The large scale structure (LSS) data stems from the recent IRAS PSCz redshift survey.

Ultra-low-frequency multi-broadband and vibration suppression mechanism of innovative star-shaped hybrid metamaterials

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2023
Metamaterials with low-frequency band gap have always been the focus of research. For this reason, many researchers have proposed many structural design schemes. In this paper, an innovative star-shaped hybrid metamaterial structure is proposed. Based on

The large-scale structure of homogeneous turbulence [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
A field of homogeneous turbulence generated at an initial instant by a distribution of random impulsive forces is considered. The statistical properties of the forces are assumed to be such that the integral moments of the cumulants of the force system ...
