Attempts to Micropropagate Mature Larix Decidua Mill
1988Two, about 30-year-old Larix decidua trees were used in the experiments described. Female cones collected at about the time of meiosis and vegetative and sexual buds collected from late summer till early spring served as explants. Adventitious shoots developed either directly on these explants or on subcultured callus obtained from the explants.

The genus Larix includes about 15 species of deciduous trees, widely distributed over the cooler regions of the Northern Hemisphere. They grow in central and northern Europe, in North America, and in Asia, from the Himalayas to Siberia and Japan. The altitudinal range of Larix extends from sea level to the upper treeline in mountains.

History of Larix decidua Mill. (European larch) since 130 ka
Quaternary Science Reviews, 2015Retrospective studies focussing on forest dynamics using fossil and genetic data can provide important keys to prepare forests for the future. In this study we analyse the impact of past climate and anthropogenic changes on Larix decidua Mill. (European larch) populations based on a new range-wide fossil compilation encompassing the last 130 ka and on ...

Diploidization in megagametophyte-derived cultures of the gymnosperm Larix decidua
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1995Tested haploid embryogenic lines (n=12) of Larix dedicua Mill, initiated from megagametophyte tissue were maintained on half-strength LM medium without growth regulators. The cultures were analyzed for ploidy level after 1-9 years. All lines tested were found to have doubled (2n=24) their chromosome number at the end of the experiment, though there ...

Forestry Education and Science: Current Challenges and Development Prospects.
