Production of Activated Carbon From Grape Stems After Tannin Extraction: An Integrated Valorization Approach

open access: yesCLEAN – Soil, Air, Water, Volume 53, Issue 12, December 2025.
Grape stems offer dual valorization potential: as a tannin source for coagulant synthesis and as a precursor for activated carbon production. The process utilizes the residual biomass after tannin extraction, and adsorption tests demonstrate that this adsorbent is competitive with others reported in the literature.

Comparison of support vector machine, random forest and neural network classifiers for tree species classification on airborne hyperspectral APEX images

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Remote Sensing, 2017
Knowledge of tree species composition in a forest is an important topic in forest management. Accurate tree species maps allow for much more detailed and in-depth analysis of biophysical forest variables.

The occurrence of Megastigmus pictus (Förster) (Hymenoptera: Torymidae) and Resseliella skuhravyorum Skrzypcz. (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) in the Chełmowa Góra forest reserve of theŚwiętokrzyskiNational Park (Poland)

open access: yesJournal of Forest Science, 2006
A study conducted in 1999-2000 in 6 compartments of the Chełmowa Góra forest reserve, situated in the ŚwiętokrzyskieMountains, was aimed at harmful insects infesting cones and seeds of Larix decidua Mill. subsp. polonica (Racib.) Domin.

ADditive regional models of tree and stand biomass for Еurasia. Message 1: genus Larix sp. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Впервые на уникальных по объёму базам фактических данных о фитомассе деревьев и древостоев на примере рода Larix Mill. разработаны трансевразийские аддитивные модели фитомассы лиственницы, и тем самым решена совмещенная проблема аддитивности и ...

Dual Isotope Analysis Reveals Phylogenetic Patterns and Novel Insights Into Methoxy Group Synthesis of Structural Biomolecules in Leaf and Woody Plant Tissues

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 48, Issue 12, Page 8483-8501, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Stable carbon and hydrogen isotopes of wood methoxy groups (δ2Hmeth, δ13Cmeth), mainly sourced by structural biomolecules like lignin and pectin, provide important insights into climatic, hydrological and physiological conditions. This study systematically investigated species‐specific δ2Hmeth and δ13Cmeth variations in leaves and woody twigs ...

Consequences of different sample drying temperatures for accuracy of biomass inventories in forest ecosystems

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Biomass estimation is one of the crucial tasks of forest ecology. Drying tree material is a crucial stage of preparing biomass estimation tools. However, at this step researchers use different drying temperatures, but we do not know how this influences ...
