Developmental stages and viability of Toxocara canis eggs outside the host
Introduction: Toxocariasis is a soil-transmitted zoonotic disease caused mainly by ingestion of larvated eggs of Toxocara canis. Objectives: To study the morphology of the intraovular developmental stages of Toxocara canis in culture, characterize non ...

ON THE MOUTH OF THE LARVA OF CHRYSOPA [PDF]
Recently I had the opportunity of watching in a live box, under a low power of the microscope, the seizing and devouring of some plant-lice by the larva of an undetermined species of Chrysopa, and was interested in the manner in which it emptied the body of its victims.

Bio‐Inspired Strategy for Radiation‐Based Thermal Management and Utilization
Biological organisms have evolved remarkable strategies to manage and exploit thermal radiation. This review explores bio‐inspired systems that mimic these adaptations—such as radiative cooling, thermal regulation, thermal insulation, water harvesting, infrared camouflage, and infrared detection—and highlights their application in thermal management ...

Assaying Blood Cell Populations of the Drosophila melanogaster Larva
In vertebrates, hematopoiesis is regulated by inductive microenvironments (niches). Likewise, in the invertebrate model organism Drosophila melanogaster, inductive microenvironments known as larval Hematopoietic Pockets (HPs) have been identified as ...

THE LARVA OF CATOCALA UNIJUGA [PDF]
I obtained, June 16, 1880, from the trunk of a Populus candicans, at Buffa1o, N. Y., two larvæ which proved to be those of C. unijuga. They had passed their last moult when taken ; although they continued to feed in confinement for five or six days they increased in size but little during that time; their habits are strictiy nocturnal.

Refractive Index‐Corrected Light‐Sheet Microscopy for Macro‐View Cardiovascular Imaging
A refractive index‐corrected light‐sheet fluorescence microscopy system enables macro‐view cardiovascular imaging across organs, adapting to refractive index variations from different optical clearing protocols. By integrating axial sweeping, multi‐view imaging, and a sealed chamber, it extends the field of view, enhances isotropy, and improves safety.
