The Reliability of Intraoperative Frozen Section for Glottic Lesions Suspected of Early Malignancy

Abstract Objective Glottic lesions suspected of malignancy may be treated by laser cordectomy. Although obviating the preoperative biopsy can expedite treatment and preserve the surgical planes, it poses a risk of mistreatment. This study sought to determine if intraoperative frozen section (FS) prior to cordectomy can reliably guide lesion management.

RNA‐binding protein RBMS1: A new target for cancer diagnosis and treatment

This schematic illustrates the diverse regulatory roles of RNA‐binding motif single‐stranded interacting protein 1 (RBMS1) across multiple human cancers. In breast cancer, RBMS1 stabilizes B4GALT1 mRNA to promote PD‐L1 glycosylation, modulating tumor immune escape and immunotherapy efficacy.

Skeletal muscle status and malnutrition as predictors of short‐term radiotherapy response and oral mucositis in head and neck cancer

Baseline muscle mass and malnutrition were not decisive for short‐term radiotherapy outcomes in advanced head‐and‐neck cancer, yet diminished hand‐grip strength signaled poorer tumor response. This suggests that functional muscle metrics may serve as an accessible, actionable biomarker warranting validation in larger longitudinal cohorts.
