Higher order organizational features can distinguish protein interaction networks of disease classes: a case study of neoplasms and neurological diseases [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Neoplasms (NPs) and neurological diseases and disorders (NDDs) are amongst the major classes of diseases underlying deaths of a disproportionate number of people worldwide. To determine if there exist some distinctive features in the local wiring patterns of protein interactions emerging at the onset of a disease belonging to either of these two ...

Pencil‐beam scanning proton therapy for the treatment of glomus jugulare tumours

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, Volume 69, Issue 4, Page 456-462, December 2022., 2022
The rare locally destructive glomus jugulare tumours could be treated using pencil‐beam scanning proton therapy (an alternative to surgery). Proton therapy provides good local control and acceptable toxicity. This paper reports treatment outcomes, acute and early late toxicities of 12 patients with glomus jugulare tumours.

Targeting USP1 Potentiates Radiation‐Induced Type I IFN‐Dependent Antitumor Immunity by Enhancing Oligo‐Ubiquitinated SAR1A‐Mediated STING Trafficking and Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Targeting USP1 is identified as a strategy that significantly enhances type I IFN‐dependent innate immune response within the TME following radiotherapy. Mechanistically, USP1 inhibition facilitates STING trafficking from ER to Golgi by preserving K27‐linked oligo‐ubiquitination of SAR1A, thereby facilitating efficient activation of the dsDNA‐cGAS ...
