Voice enhancement of male speakers with laryngeal neoplasm

In this paper an approach is presented which is aimed to enhance disordered male voices. This approach aims at highpitched voices with a severe degree of hoarseness. The goal of the study is to determine whether pitch modification combined with periodicity enhancement can improve the perceived quality of a disordered speech utterance.

[Laryngeal cancer and secondary neoplasms in Murcia].

A retrospective study was made of 428 patients who underwent faryngectomy for cancer of the larynx. Tumor-dependent factors, treatment, and postoperative evolution were analyzed. Total laryngectomy was performed in 74% of cases. The physical examination yielded 19% false negatives and 24.7% false positives.
