Laryngeal tuberculosis following laryngeal carcinoma

The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 2005
Laryngeal tuberculosis is a rare entity and the disease related to laryngeal cancer is extremely rare. We describe a case of laryngeal tuberculosis in a 74-year-old man with a history of radiotherapy for laryngeal carcinoma four months earlier. Laryngoscopy demonstrated a white mass on the right vocal fold at the site carcinoma had previously occupied.

Laryngeal Liposarcoma

Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1994
Laryngeal liposarcomas are rare, with only 13 previously well-documented cases (to our knowledge). We report an additional case, which documents the use of computed tomography for treatment planning. Laryngeal liposarcomas appear to have a better prognosis than nonlaryngeal liposarcomas; therefore, a critical analysis of reported cases enabled us to ...

Laryngeal reinnervation

Otolaryngologic Clinics of North America, 2004
Laryngeal reinnervation refers to any of a number of surgical procedures intended to restore neural connections to the larynx, which have usually been lost from some type of trauma (eg, surgical). Laryngeal Chondrometaplasia

Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery, 2021
Laryngeal chondrometaplasia (LCM) is a rare clinically asymptomatic entity with reported incidence in autopsy studies of 1-2% only. Foci of metaplastic cartilage seen on histology need to be distinguished from other benign cartilaginous tumours of larynx. We present a case of LCM in an elderly male adequately managed by microlaryngeal surgery (MLS).

Laryngeal Myxoma

Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1991
Myxoma is a rare mesenchymal tumor that is especially uncommon in the head and neck. We report a case of a myxoma of the larynx in a 70-year-old man, which, to our knowledge, is the second case reported in the English-language literature. Although benign, myxomas have a propensity for local recurrence due to their tendency to infiltrate surrounding ...

Laryngeal tuberculosis

The Laryngoscope, 1981
AbstractTuberculosis involvement of the larynx is uncommon. However, it is a highly infectious disease and a hazard to both community and hospital staff. It should be considered in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with chronic hoarseness. Two patients with laryngeal tuberculosis are the objective of the present report.

Laryngeal malakoplakia

The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1997
AbstractWe report a case of malakoplakia of the epiglottis in a 45-year-old female patient. Only three cases of laryngeal malakoplakia have been reported in the world literature, one of which was associated with tracheal malakoplakia. To our knowledge this is the first reported case of isolated malakoplakia of the epiglottis.

Laryngeal cancer

Current Opinion in Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery, 2014
Treatment of laryngeal carcinoma continues to evolve, and whereas there was a transition from total laryngectomy to chemoradiation in response to the Veterans Affairs study and Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) 91-11, recent data suggest the role of partial laryngectomy must be revisited.Recent data have shown that laryngeal preservation does not

Laryngeal Myxoma

American Journal of Otolaryngology, 1986
A 37-year old man had laryngeal myxoma arising from the lingual surface of the epiglottis. Laryngeal myxoma appears to be rare, as the authors' review of the literature failed to reveal any cases reported in the past two decades.
