In Europe, laryngeal cancer accounts for only 2-5% of all cancers, the incidence being much higher among males than among females. Smoke and alcohol represent the major behavioural risk factors. Several carcinogens, occupations and vitamin deficiencies have been associated with laryngeal cancer.

AbstractChondroma of the larynx is rare, but should be suspected in elderly patients with persistent voice changes or recurrent colds when carcinoma has been disproved. We report a patient with chondroma of the larynx. The diagnosis was established following complications associated with anesthesia for an unrelated ailment.

Because of the rarity of this tumor, little information exists on its long-term follow-up and optimal management.
