Lobbying for Trade Liberalization and Its Policy Influence

open access: yesReview of International Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Lobbying activities are important to promoting Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). This paper quantifies the influence of lobbying on the probability of ratification of three bilateral FTAs in the US Congress in 2011. I build a contest model where lobbying affects the ratification probability through votes in Congress.

Computational Thinking Integrated Science Lesson: STEM Integrated Teaching Approach With Data Practices on Climate Change

open access: yesSchool Science and Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We have developed and implemented a 6‐h lesson plan with a STEM‐integrated teaching framework that integrates computational thinking (CT) into science lessons through data practices. The aim of the STEM integrated lesson plan is to teach middle school students climate and weather concepts using data and to increase their understanding and ...

Fault‐Controlled Permeability: A Key Parameter in Geothermal Electricity Production Assessment

open access: yesTerra Nova, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Geothermal energy is central to the global green energy transition, but its development has long focused on regions with positive thermal anomalies. Through a semi‐quantitative global‐scale review and spatial analysis of 361 geothermal sites, we show that 56.2% of global geothermal electricity production occurs in regions with thermal ...

Increases in skin perfusion and blood oxygen in the non‐exercising human limbs during exercise in the heat: Implications for control of circulation

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Blood flow in the inactive limb tissues and skin is widely thought to decline during incremental exercise to exhaustion due to augmented sympathoadrenal vasoconstrictor activity, but direct evidence to support this view is lacking. Here, we investigated the inactive‐forearm haemodynamic (Q̇forearm${\dot{Q}}_{\mathrm{forearm}}$) and oxygenation

University of Nevada Las Vegas LED Display Engineering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The primary objective of this part of the project is to develop and implement a method that compensates for the inefficiency of the green LED. The proposed engineering solution which will be the backbone of this project will be to use RGBW combination in every pixel to save energy. Two different RGBW geometrical pixel configurations will be implemented

Semaglutide impacts skeletal muscle to a similar extent as caloric restriction in mice with diet‐induced obesity

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Four weeks of semaglutide treatment causes significant reductions in total body weight, fat mass, lean mass, and grip strength in mice with diet induced obesity. Mice treated with semaglutide lost a greater amount of total body weight and fat mass compared to mice fed fed a calorie matched diet.

The influence of haemoglobin–O2 affinity on aerobic capacity in hypoxia in high‐altitude deer mice (Peromyscus maniculatus)

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend The influence of haemoglobin–O2 affinity on aerobic capacity in hypoxia has been contentious. Many high‐altitude natives have greater haemoglobin–O2 affinity (lower P50, the O2 pressure at 50% haemoglobin saturation) than their low‐altitude counterparts, but the advantages of this change for aerobic metabolism have often remained

Availability and Quality of Electronic Health Record Data to Track Physical Function Across a Care Transition

open access: yesLearning Health Systems, Volume 10, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Physical function (PF) is critical to quality of life and healthcare value, especially for older adults following hospitalization. Monitoring PF supports recovery, reduces adverse events, and improves care transitions. Despite the potential of electronic health records (EHRs) enabling systematic PF tracking, such data are rarely ...
