Development of an ELISA for lasalocid and depletion kinetics of lasalocid residues in poultry

Food Additives and Contaminants, 1995
Polyclonal antibodies against the coccidiostat, lasalocid, were raised in sheep. The antisera were applied in an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for lasalocid, which was validated for chicken serum, liver and muscle. Bridge homology in the ELISA was overcome by absorbing unspecific antisera onto a conjugate between salinomycin and chicken ...

Aggregation of lasalocid A in membranes: a fluorescence study

Biochimica Et Biophysica Acta - Biomembranes, 1992
The aggregation behavior of the carboxylic ionophore, lasalocid A, has been studied in egg phosphatidylcholine vesicles by monitoring the intrinsic fluorescence of lasalocid A. Self quenching of lasalocid A fluorescence in vesicles of egg phosphatidylcholine suggests aggregation of lasalocid A.

Toxic Effects of Lasalocid in Horses

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1981
SUMMARY Lasalocid was given to horses in a series of sequentially increasing single oral doses ranging between 5 and 30 mg/kg of body weight, with an appropriate washout period between treatments. One of 5 horses died after a dosage of 15 mg/kg, 1 of 3 horses died after 21 mg/kg, 1 of 3 horses died after 22 mg/kg, and 1 of 2 horses died after 26 mg/kg.

Fitness of Amines for Pseudocyclic Conformation of Lasalocid A

Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics, 1995
Ionophore lasalocid A selectively transports amines across lipid membranes. The structures of amine-lasalocid complexes were calculated by a molecular mechanics technique. Four typical catecholamines were considered: serotonin, dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline.

The Total Synthesis of Lasalocid A

1980
A total asymmetric synthesis of the "right half ketone" of the stereo-complex polyether antibiotic, lasalocid A, is described. The [3,3] sigmatropic rearrangements of 0-silylketene acetals derived from esters of 1,4-anhydro-pent-1-enitols (furanoid glycals) and 1,5-anhydro-hex-1-enitols (pyranoid glycals) provided α-substituted-2,5-dihydrofuran-2 ...

Control of coccidia in young calves using lasalocid

Australian Veterinary Journal, 1995
SUMMARY Thirty‐six, 2‐ to 4‐day‐old Friesian bull calves were divided into 4 groups and fed milk replacer and calf starter pellets ad libitum in separate pens. Four treatments were applied; lasalocid in milk (1 mg/kg body weight/day) (M), lasalocid in starter (F), lasalocid in both milk and starter (M+F) and untreated (C).
