Study of phenomenon of fibre-laser-MIG/MAG-hybrid-welding
ICALEO 2008: 27th International Congress on Laser Materials Processing, Laser Microprocessing and Nanomanufacturing, 2008The laser hybrid welding processes have quite a few successful applications already in use for example in automotive, ship building and construction industry. The current development steps of high power lasers using optical fiber for beam transportation are widened the applicability of laser hybrid welding ever more and also to thick section welding.

Hybrid laser-MIG welding of aluminum alloys: The influence of shielding gases
Applied Surface Science, 2009Abstract In this paper, laser-GMAW hybrid welding technologies of light metals are investigated by focusing particularly on shielding gas related problems such as distribution on the welding zone, mixtures and flow. In particular, a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software was used with the aim to investigate the effect on gas distribution and ...

The Deformation Simulation of the Laser-MIG Hybrid Welding in Fillet-Welded Joint
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011The numerical simulation of the fillet-welded joint which is welded with the four kind of clamped methods by laser-MIG hybrid welding is researched by the SYSWELD software. The results of the numerical simulation are compared with the results of the experienced welding.

Investigation of mixing phenomena in hybrid laser-MIG keyhole welding
ICALEO 2004: 23rd International Congress on Laser Materials Processing and Laser Microfabrication, 2004In laser keyhole welding of alloys, low melting-point elements, such as aluminum or magnesium, can be easily vaporized and lost from the weld region, leading to the changes of composition, mechanical properties, and the susceptibility of hard cracking and other defects.

Comparison between hybrid laser-MIG welding and MIG welding for the invar36 alloy
Optics & Laser Technology, 2016Abstract The invar36 alloy is suitable to produce mold of composite materials structure because it has similar thermal expansion coefficient with composite materials. In the present paper, the MIG welding and laser-MIG hybrid welding methods are compared to get the more appropriate method to overcome the poor weldability of invar36 alloy.

Penetration and welding phenomena in YAG laser-mig hybrid welding of aluminum alloy
ICALEO 2004: 23rd International Congress on Laser Materials Processing and Laser Microfabrication, 2004Hybrid welding combining YAG laser and MIG arc was carried out on aluminum alloy, and the effects of various welding conditions were investigated. The optimum distances between the laser-focused point and the MIG wire target for deeper penetration were found to be about 2 to 4mm depending upon the MIG current of 60 to 240 A.
