Modeling and Optimum Parameters of CO2 Laser MIG Hybrid Welding Process
2020In engineering applications, the welding process is vitally important for many industrial areas. Generally, Hybrid Laser-MIG Welding (HLAW) is a preferred process in shipbuilding, road transport, rail transport, oil and gas. Principally, the quality of Hybrid Laser-MIG welding is dominantly determined by some welding criteria and also plays an ...

Hybrid laser-MIG keyhole welding of thick steel/Al butt joints
ICALEO 2018: 37th International Congress on Applications of Lasers & Electro-Optics, 2018Dissimilar joining of steel/Al joints has become more and more significant in industrial applications with particular weight saving interest. However, directly welding of steel/Al joints even in thin thickness is very difficult. In the present study, the hybrid laser-MIG source focused on the steel side in keyhole mode was introduced to weld steel/Al ...

Mechanical properties of a dissimilar aluminum alloy joint welded by hybrid laser–MIG welding
International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2017Two dissimilar Al alloys, 5083-H111 and 6005A-T6, were joined by hybrid laser–MIG welding method. Mechanical properties of the welded joint were investigated and compared. The results show that the tensile strength of the dissimilar joint is 219.8 MPa, 11.7% higher than that of 6005A-T5 joint.

Double-sided hybrid laser-MIG welding plus MIG welding of 30-mm-thick aluminium alloy
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2018Hybrid laser-MIG (metal inert gas) welding has not been extensively applied in welding of aluminium alloy with thickness more than 10 mm because of the existence of weld defects and low joint strength. In this study, an original hybrid laser-MIG welding plus MIG welding process was developed.
