Modeling and Optimum Parameters of CO2 Laser MIG Hybrid Welding Process

2020
In engineering applications, the welding process is vitally important for many industrial areas. Generally, Hybrid Laser-MIG Welding (HLAW) is a preferred process in shipbuilding, road transport, rail transport, oil and gas. Principally, the quality of Hybrid Laser-MIG welding is dominantly determined by some welding criteria and also plays an ...

Mechanical properties of a dissimilar aluminum alloy joint welded by hybrid laser–MIG welding

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2017
Two dissimilar Al alloys, 5083-H111 and 6005A-T6, were joined by hybrid laser–MIG welding method. Mechanical properties of the welded joint were investigated and compared. The results show that the tensile strength of the dissimilar joint is 219.8 MPa, 11.7% higher than that of 6005A-T5 joint.

The effect of external longitudinal magnetic field on laser-MIG hybrid welding

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2015
Applying the external longitudinal magnetic field to laser-metal inert gas (MIG) hybrid welding, its influence on the arc/plasma shape, motion characterization, and coupling of these two sources are researched using a high-speed camera. It is revealed that the essential effect of the external longitudinal magnetic field on laser-MIG hybrid welding arc ...

Hybrid laser-MIG welding of Aluminium alloys: the influence of positioning parameters

2008
In the recently developed hybrid welding process, a laser and an electric arc are coupled in order to combine the positive aspects of each technology: high speed, low thermal load and high seam depth, all typical features of the laser; low cost and ability to withstand bad edge preparation, typical of the MIG arc welding. In particular the exploitation
