Parameter Influence in CO2-laser/MIG Hybrid Welding
Hybrid welding, as the combination of laser beam and arc welding, is an innovative joining technology that has many advantages compared to the single processes. With the hybrid process joint gap can overbridges and hence additional and costly joint preparation can be avoided. Also the weld metal composition can be controlled by the filler wire.

In the work, an analysis of the influence of electrode inclination on the distribution of temperature in the weld overlaying has been conducted. In the analytical description of the temperature field, a volumetric heat source model with an inclined axis with respect to the direction of surfacing was adopted.

Computational and Mathematical Model with Phase Change and Metal Addition Applied to GMAW
This work presents a 3D computational/mathematical model to solve the heat diffusion equation with phase change, considering metal addition, complex geometry, and thermal properties varying with temperature. The finite volume method was used and the computational code was implemented in C++, using a Borland compiler.

From Damage to Functionality: Remanufacturing of Thrust Roller Bearings by Tailored Forming
Herein, the wear and fatigue behavior of repaired bearing raceways with a new powder alloy is investigated using a FE8 test‐rig and an oscillating tribometer. The tests are compared with industrial manufactured bearings to evaluate the repair quality. The repair can extend the service life of the repaired bearing to that of a new bearing and improves ...

Radial Deposition for Mechanical Bonding of Dissimilar Metals in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing
Concentric radial deposition patterns are used in a wire‐arc directed energy deposition system to produce a layer‐by‐layer in situ bimetallic coupling between AA5356 and SS308L. The additively generated mechanical bond is produced by residual pressure, created by different thermal expansion coefficients between the concentric material bands during ...

Joint Design Influence on Laser-MIG Hybrid Welding of Maraging Steel
Abstract Laser-MIG Hybrid welding (LHW) was performed in a single- pass on M250 maraging steel plates of 10 mm thickness with three modified joint designs. A Y-groove joint preparation with included angles (IA) of 16°, 24°, and 30° and root face of 2.5 mm was used. Welding was performed using M250 W2 filler wire.
