Beam-by-beam Kerr clean-up in multimode optical fibres – INVITED [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2023
We propose and demonstrate the concept of beam-by-beam cleaning in multimode optical fibres, i.e., the increase of the spatial quality of an intense laser beam, induced by a relatively weak, quasi singlemode seed beam.

PRELIMINARY QUALITY ANALYSIS OF GF-7 SATELLITE LASER ALTIMETER FULL WAVEFORM DATA [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2020
The full-waveform data is the core data of GaoFen-7 (GF-7) satellite laser altimeter, and evaluation of waveform data quality is an important step and premise for satellite laser altimetry and quality control.

Characterization of beam quality of unstable laser beams with the multiple hyperbolas method

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
In this paper, the multiple hyperbolas method is proposed for characterizing the beam quality of unstable laser beams. Based on the traditional beam quality analyzer equipment, the proposed method captures multiple intensity images at every measurement ...

Beam Control in an Intracavity Frequency-Doubling Semiconductor Disk Laser

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this paper, we have demonstrated a 1.3 W green laser using a V-shaped intracavity frequency doubling 1036 nm semiconductor disk laser. The beam quality of the fundamental and second harmonic generation (SHG) laser is investigated.

Generalized beam quality factor of aberrated truncated Gaussian laser beams [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America A, 2011
We outline a theory for the calculation of the beam quality factor of an aberrated laser beam. We provide closed-form equations that show that the beam quality factor of an aberrated Gaussian beam depends on all primary aberrations except tilt, defocus, and x-astigmatism.

Optimization of electron bunch quality using a chirped laser pulse in laser wakefield acceleration

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2021
In this work, we perform particle-in-cell simulations to investigate the electron bunch quality using a chirped laser pulse in a laser wakefield acceleration mechanism.

High quality beam produced by tightly focused laser driven wakefield accelerators

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2023
We propose to use tightly focused lasers to generate high quality electron beams in laser wakefield accelerators. In this scheme, the expansion of the laser beam after the focal position enlarges the size of wakefield bubble, which reduces the effective ...
