Laser Beam Transformation

1982
Before it is put to use, a laser beam is generally transformed in some way. The most common type of transformation is that which occurs when the beam is made to propagate in free space or through a suitable optical system. Since this produces a change in the spatial distribution of the beam (e.g., the beam may be focused or expanded), we shall refer to

Laser Beam Physics

1986
The experiment was conducted using a neody-mium glass laser modified for normal pulse operation. The energy density was varied from 850J/sq cm where no breakdown occurred to 5000J/sq cm where the threshold for breakdown was exceeded. The normal pulse duration was 600μS.
